Abstract
This research aims to improve the connectivity of Internet of Things (IoT) devices which have changed the way humans interact with their environment, especially in the context of Smart Home. However, this increased connectivity also presents security challenges. Using Cisco Packet Tracer simulation and the PPDIOO (Prepare, Plan, Design, Implement, Operate, and Optimize) methodology, this research designs an encryption-based network security system for Smart Homes that use IoT. The PPDIOO methodology ensures that the design process is carried out in a structured and efficient manner, from requirements analysis to planning, design, implementation, operation and encryption optimization. The research results show increased protection against cyberattacks, decreased likelihood of unauthorized access, and increased data integrity and privacy between IoT devices. The main contribution of this research is a comprehensive development approach that integrates network security in an IoT-based Smart Home ecosystem. Using the Cisco Packet Tracer simulation tool and the PPDIOO methodology, this research provides practical guidance for implementing security systems that can be utilized by developers and other researchers in the fields of IoT and cybersecurity. It is hoped that these findings will encourage further development in creating a safer and more reliable Smart Home environment. Keywords: IoT, Smart Home, Encryptions Cisco Packet Tracer, PPDIOO Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan konektivitas perangkat Internet of Things (IoT), yang telah mengubah cara manusia berinteraksi dengan lingkungan mereka, terutama dalam konteks Smart Home. Namun, peningkatan konektivitas ini juga menghadirkan tantangan keamanan. Menggunakan simulasi Cisco Packet Tracer dan metodologi PPDIOO (Prepare, Plan, Design, Implement, Operate, and Optimize), penelitian ini merancang sistem keamanan jaringan berbasis enkripsi untuk Smart Home yang menggunakan IoT. Metodologi PPDIOO memastikan bahwa proses perancangan dilakukan secara terstruktur dan efisien, mulai dari analisis kebutuhan hingga perencanaan, desain, implementasi, operasi, dan optimalisasi enkripsi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan peningkatan perlindungan terhadap serangan siber, penurunan kemungkinan akses tidak sah, serta peningkatan integritas dan kerahasiaan data antar perangkat IoT. Kontribusi utama penelitian ini adalah pengembangan pendekatan komprehensif yang mengintegrasikan keamanan jaringan dalam ekosistem Smart Home berbasis IoT. Dengan menggunakan alat simulasi Cisco Packet Tracer dan metodologi PPDIOO, penelitian ini menyediakan panduan praktis untuk implementasi sistem keamanan yang dapat dimanfaatkan oleh pengembang dan peneliti lain di bidang IoT dan keamanan siber.
