Abstract
As the structural strength supported by concrete increases, it demands higher quality concrete. However, increasing the use of concrete structures makes the materials used in concrete more expensive. This study utilizes corn stalk ash, which contains silica and has pozzolanic properties, to partially replace cement. Meanwhile, snail shell powder is assumed to act as a filler to fill the voids between the aggregate particles. The research was conducted by replacing 7% of the cement weight with corn stalk ash and adding snail shell powder in varying amounts of 0.3%, 0.5%, 0.7%, and 0.9% of the total cement weight used in the concrete mix for curing periods of 7, 14, and 28 days. The aim was to investigate its effect on compressive strength, density, and water absorption of the concrete. The results of the study concluded that replacing 7% of the cement with corn stalk ash and adding 0.3% snail shell powder after 28 days could increase the compressive strength by +10.8%, reduce the density by -2.8%, and decrease the water absorption by - 10.91%. Semakin meninggi kekuatan struktur yang di topang oleh struktur beton maka akan menuntut mutu beton yang lebih baik. Namun, meningkatkan pemakaian struktur beton menjadikan bahan penyusun beton menjadi lebih mahal. Dalam penelitian ini digunakan abu batang jagung yang mengandung silika dan bersifat pozzolan digunakan untuk mensubsitusi sebagian semen. Sedangkan serbuk cangkang bekicot diasumsikan sebagai penambah filler untuk mengisi rongga-rongga antar butiran agregat. Penelitian dilakukan dengan menggantikan sebagian berat semen dengan abu batang jagung sebesar 7% dan menambahkan serbuk cangkang bekicot yang bervariasi sebesar 0.3%, 0.5%, 0.7% dan 0.9% dari total berat semen yang digunakan pada campuran beton untuk umur 7 hari, 14 hari dan 28 hari. Dengan harapan, dapat mengetahui pengaruhnya terhadap kuat tekan, berat jenis dan daya serap beton. hasil penelitian dapat disimpulkan bahwa dengan mensubsitusi 7% abu batang jagung dan 0,3% serbuk cangkang bekicot setelah 28 hari dapat meningkatkan kuat tekan sebesar +10.8%, berat jenis menurun -2.8% dan daya serap beton menurun -10.91%. Namun dengan nilai slump yang menurun 4 cm sehingga mempengaruhi workability. Kata Kunci: Abu Batang Jagung, Serbuk Cangkang Bekicot, Slump, Berat Jenis, Kuat Tekan, Daya Serap.
