Abstract
Railway is one of the main modes of transportation in Indonesia that has a vital role in the mobility of people and goods. However, the development of railway transportation technology still faces challenges, especially in infrastructure that has the potential to increase the risk of accidents. This research aims to design and build a prototype of an automatic doorstop control system at railway level crossings by utilizing ultrasonic sensors and microcontroller-based camera modules. The research method includes data analysis with calculation of the average system response time and evaluation of detection accuracy, which is measured based on the number of accurate detections by the camera and ultrasonic sensor. The results show that the HC-SR04 sensor has a minimum distance range accuracy of 1.1-1.9 cm and a maximum distance of 50.4-50.9 cm, while the camera module is able to detect objects according to the system's training method with 100% accuracy in bright conditions and 66% in dark conditions. This system integration allows the servo motor and LED light to function optimally according to the response of 0 ms on mode change and 100 ms on servo motor movement. These findings demonstrate the system's potential as an effective solution to improve safety at railroad level crossings. Keyword: control system, gate bar, crossing, safety Kereta api merupakan salah satu moda transportasi utama di Indonesia yang memiliki peran vital dalam mobilitas masyarakat dan barang. Namun, pengembangan teknologi transportasi kereta api masih menghadapi tantangan, khususnya pada infrastruktur prasarana yang berpotensi meningkatkan risiko kecelakaan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk merancang dan membangun prototipe sistem kendali palang pintu otomatis pada perlintasan sebidang kereta api dengan memanfaatkan sensor ultrasonik dan modul kamera berbasis mikrokontroler. Metode penelitian mencakup analisis data dengan perhitungan rata-rata waktu respons sistem dan evaluasi akurasi deteksi, yang diukur berdasarkan jumlah deteksi akurat oleh kamera dan sensor ultrasonik. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa sensor HC-SR04 memiliki akurasi jangkauan jarak minimum 1,1-1,9 cm dan jarak maksimum 50,4-50,9 cm, sementara modul kamera mampu mendeteksi objek sesuai dengan metode pelatihan sistem dengan akurasi 100% pada kondisi terang dan 66% pada kondisi gelap. Integrasi sistem ini memungkinkan motor servo dan lampu LED berfungsi secara optimal sesuai dengan respon sebesar 0 ms pada perubahan mode dan 100 ms pada pergerakan motor servo. Temuan ini menunjukkan potensi sistem sebagai solusi yang efektif untuk meningkatkan keselamatan pada perlintasan sebidang kereta api Kata kunci: sistem kendali, palang pintu, perlintasan, keselamatan.
