Abstract

This study focuses on designing a 1x3 microstrip antenna Array using slot and insetfeed techniques to support communication in the mmWave frequency range. Simulations were conducted using HFSS, and laboratory testing was performed using a Vector Network Analyzer (VNA). The Substrate used was Rogers RO4003, with a dielectric constant of 3.55 and a loss tangent of 0.0027. The simulation results showed that Antenna B achieved the highest gain of 11.5 dB, while Antenna C demonstrated the most consistent performance between simulation and testing, with a gain of 6.18 dB. Discrepancies between simulation and testing results were attributed to noise and fabrication imperfections. The testing also confirmed that all antenna designs met the expected technical specifications, such as a return loss of < -10 dB and a bandwidth > 1 GHz. This study recommends further optimization of the antenna design to enhance the accuracy between simulation and testing results. These findings significantly contribute to the development of high-frequency antennas for 5G applications. Keywords: Microstrip Antenna, Slot Technique, Inset-feed, mmWave. Penelitian ini berfokus pada perancangan antena mikrostrip Array 1x3 menggunakan teknik slot dan inset-feed untuk mendukung komunikasi pada frekuensi mmWave. Simulasi dilakukan menggunakan HFSS, sementara pengujian dilakukan di laboratorium menggunakan Vector Network Analyzer (VNA). Substrat yang digunakan adalah Rogers RO4003, yang memiliki konstanta dielektrik 3,55 dan loss tangent 0,0027. Hasil simulasi menunjukkan bahwa Antena B memiliki gain tertinggi sebesar 11,5 dB, sedangkan Antena C menunjukkan performa paling konsisten antara simulasi dan pengujian, dengan gain sebesar 6,18 dB. Discrepansi antara hasil simulasi dan pengujian disebabkan oleh noise dan ketidaksempurnaan fabrikasi antena. Pengujian juga mengonfirmasi bahwa semua desain antena memenuhi spesifikasi teknis yang diharapkan, seperti return loss < -10 dB dan bandwidth > 1 GHz. Penelitian ini merekomendasikan optimasi lebih lanjut pada desain antena untuk meningkatkan akurasi hasil antara simulasi dan pengujian. Temuan ini memberikan kontribusi signifikan dalam pengembangan antena frekuensi tinggi untuk aplikasi 5G. Kata Kunci: Antena Mikrostrip, Teknik Slot, Inset-feed, mmWave.
