Abstract

The Quality Assurance (QA) Division plays a crucial role in ensuring production quality, one of which is through the Tire Performance Testing subdepartment that conducts drum tests to ensure tire quality. This study was conducted at PT ZXY's testing laboratory, which utilizes drum test machines. However, inconsistent temperature monitoring often leads to test failures, resulting in significant financial losses. Therefore, this study aims to design a temperature monitoring and control system for the drum test machine room in the testing laboratory based on the Internet of Things (IoT). The IoT-based temperature monitoring and control system was developed using a NodeMCU ESP8266 microcontroller, a DS18B20 sensor to measure room temperature, an I2C LCD to display temperature values and AC status, and an MG90S servo motor as an actuator. The system maintains the room temperature between 20°C and 30°C by automatically turning the AC on and off using a servo motor based on the temperature readings. A website was also developed using the Laravel 9.0 framework with PHP and a MySQL database to facilitate real-time monitoring of temperature data and AC status. In this study, the temperature monitoring and control system was successfully implemented. The comparison of temperature readings between the device sensor and the standard reference sensor showed an average error of 2% across 15 data samples, indicating that the device's sensor accuracy is comparable to the standard sensor. The device can activate the AC when the temperature is ≥ 25°C and deactivate it when the temperature is < 25°C using the servo motor. Temperature values and AC status were successfully displayed on the website with an average delay of 2 seconds across 15 data samples. Divisi Quality Assurance (QA) berperan penting dalam menjamin kualitas produksi, salah satunya melalui sub-departemen Tire Performance Testing yang melakukan pengujian drum test untuk memastikan kualitas ban. Penelitian ini dilakukan di laboratorium uji PT ZXY yang menggunakan mesin drum test. Namun, pemantauan suhu yang tidak konsisten sering menyebabkan kegagalan uji, yang berdampak pada kerugian finansial yang signifikan. Oleh karena itu, penelitian ini bertujuan untuk membuat rancang bangun sistem monitoring dan kontrol suhu di ruang mesin drum test laboratorium uji berbasis internet of things. Sistem monitoring dan kontrol suhu berbasis internet of things ini dibuat dengan menggunakan NodeMCU ESP8266 sebagai mikrokontroler, sensor DS18B20 sebagai pembaca nilai suhu ruang, LCD I2C untuk menampilkan nilai suhu ruang juga status AC dan menggunakan motor servo MG90S sebagai aktuator. Sistem ini menjaga suhu ruang antara 20°C - 30°C dengan cara menyalakan dan mematikan remot AC menggunakan motor servo secara otomatis dengan acuan nilai suhu yang dibaca sensor. Proses pemantauan data nilai suhu dan status AC juga dimudahakan dengan dibuatkan website menggunakan framework Laravel 9.0 dengan bahasa PHP dan basisdata MySQL agar data dapat dipantau secara realtime. Pada penelitian ini, sistem monitoring dan kontrol suhu berhasil diimplementasikan. Hasil perbandingan pembacaan sensor suhu pada alat dengan sensor suhu yang dijadikan standar menunjukan error rata-rata 2% dengan 15 sampel data, sehingga keakuratan pembacaan sensor suhu pada alat tidak jauh berbeda dengan sensor suhu yang dijadikan standar. Alat juga dapat mengaktifkan AC jika suhu ≥ 25°C dan mematikan AC jika suhu < 25°C menggunakan motor servo. Data nilai suhu dan kondisi AC berhasil ditampilkan pada website dengan rata-rata waktu tunda sebesar 2 detik pada 15 sampel data.
