Abstract

The increasing need for electricity along with development hasencouraged PLN to prioritize reducing electrical energy losses (losses) as anefficiency measure. Losses, both technical and non-technical, are defined asenergy that does not generate income. One step to reduce technical losses is toincrease measurement accuracy using a 0.2s class current transformer (CT) which is more precise than 0.5 class. This research tested the performance of six CTs, with three units each of accuracy Class 0.5 and 0.2s, under load conditions of 1%, 5%, 10%, 20%, 50%, 100%, and 120% of the nominal current. Test results show that the 0.2s class CTis better for small and very small loads, while for medium to high loads, the 0.2sand 0.5 class produce measurements that are not much different. It is recommended that customers with low usage use CT class 0.2s, whilefor medium to high usage you can use both classes according to your needs. Keywords: Current Transformer (CT), accuracy class, energy losses, electrical efficiency, electrical load Kebutuhan listrik yang meningkat seiring pembangunan mendorong PLNuntuk memprioritaskan pengurangan susut energi listrik (losses) sebagai salahsatu upaya efisiensi.
