Abstract
The industrial world, especially the manufacturing industry, will definitely produce by-products in the form of iron waste. PT XYZ In order to increase the selling value of iron waste, researchers want to convert it into iron(II) oxalate. One of the benefits of iron (II) oxalate is using the positive cathode of lithium batteries. The author wants to design a system for producing iron (II) oxalate from iron waste using UV light photoreduction techniques. The method for design and construction uses the VDI 2221 method. Researchers carry out tool making, testing and tool optimization. Testing of the device with iron (III) oxalate solution was carried out at BRIN. The system optimization process using the Response Surface Methodology using Minitab software produces optimum conditions when using 3 UV lamps, opening the valve at 90˚ and 24 hours, which can produce 89.0425 mg of iron (II) oxalate. Keywords: Iron(II)Oxalate, VDI2221, Photoreduction, Steel Waste Dunia industri khususnya industri manufaktur pasti akan menghasilkan produk samping berupa limbah besi. PT XYZ menjual limbah besi dengan harga murah bahkan dibuang cuma-Cuma khususnya limbah besi dari mesin cylindrical grinding U1000 yang berbentuk serbuk dan bercampur coolant. Guna untuk meningkatkan nilai jual dari limbah besi, peneliti ingin merubahnya menjadi besi(II)oksalat. Salah satu manfaat besi(II)oksalat digunakan katoda positif baterai litium.penulis ingin membuat rancang bangun sistem produksi besi(II) oksalat dari limbah besi dengan teknik fotoreduksi Sinar UV. Metode untuk rancang bangun menggunakan metode VDI 2221. Peneliti melakukan pembuatan alat, pengujian dan optimasi alat. Pengujian alat dengan larutan besi (III) oksalat dilakukan di BRIN. Proses optimasi sistem dengan metode Respone Surface Metodologi dengan software Minitab menghasilkan kondisi optimum pada saat menggunakan 3 buah lampu UV , pembukaan valve 90˚ dan waktu 24 jam, dapat menghasilkan 89,0425 mg besi (II) oksalat.
