Abstract

Natural resources such as coal, oil, gas, waterfalls, sunlight, wind turbines, and so on can be used to generate energy. Wind energy is an abundant and environmentally friendly renewable energy source. A wind turbine is a wind hose that can generate electricity using wind power. The research was carried out using an Eight-Ball Vertical Axis Wind Turbine (TASV) with a parallel blade placement and the addition of a collector at the end of the blade whether it is capable of operating at low wind speeds based on Indonesian geographical conditions. The purpose of this study is to analyze the TASV with a limas blade model at a specific wind speed and the testing of the TasV is carried out using the field test method in Tanggul Muara Baru, North Jakarta. The performance of the turbine will be evaluated simultaneously through measured parameters such as wind speed, voltage value (V), current value (Amp), turbin rotation speed (RPM) and torque value (N.m), also analyzing the power coefficient (Cp), torque factor (Ct) and tip speed ratio (TSR) as non-measured parameter (non-dimensional). From the field test results the highest value achieved using the Planetary Gearbox at a wind speed of 5.0 m/s resulted in a voltage value of 58.72 V, a current value of 1.56 A, and a torque value of 35.40 at a turbine rotation speed of 33.75 rpm. The test results were obtained through calculation and analysis, from the calculations and analysis resulted the best value using the planetary gearbox at the power coefficient (Cp) of 0.4624 at wind velocity of 4.5m/s, the torque factor (Ct) of 0.5689 at wind speed 4.0 m/sec and the Tip Speed Ratio (TSR) of 0,9649 at windspeed 5.0 m/s. Keywords: Renewable Energy; Vertical Axis Wind Turbine (TASV); Planetary Gearbox Sumber daya alam seperti batu bara, minyak bumi, gas bumi, air terjun, sinar matahari, kincir angin, dan sebagainya dapat digunakan untuk menghasilkan energi. Energi angin merupakan sumber energi terbarukan yang melimpah dan ramah lingkungan. Turbin angin adalah kincir angin yang dapat menghasilkan listrik dengan menggunakan tenaga angin. Penelitian ini dilakukan menggunakan Turbin Angin Sumbu Vertikal (TASV) Delapan Bilah dengan penempatan blade yang sejajar dan penambahan collector pada bagian ujung blade apakah mampu beroperasi pada kecepatan angin yang rendah berdasarkan kondisi geografis Indonesia. Tujuan dari penelitian ini untuk menganalisis TASV dengan model blade limas pada kecepatan angin tertentu dan pengujian TASV dilakukan menggunakan metode uji lapangan (field test) di Tanggul Muara Baru, Jakarta Utara. Kinerja turbin akan dievaluasi secara simultan melalui parameter-parameter terukur seperti kecepatan angin, nilai tegangan (V), nilai arus (Amp), kecepatan putaran turbin (RPM) dan nilai torsi (N.m), juga menganalisis koefisien daya (Cp), koefisien torsi (Ct) dan tip speed ratio (TSR) sebagai parameter tidak terukur (non-dimensional). Dari hasil pengujian lapangan dicapai nilai tertinggi menggunakan Planetary Gearbox pada kecepatan angin 5,0 m/s menghasilkan nilai tegangan sebesar 58,72 V, nilai arus 1,56 A, dan nilai torsi 35,40 pada kecepatan putaran turbin 33,75 rpm. Hasil pengujian didapatkan melalui perhitungan dan analisis, dari hasil perhitungan dan analisis menghasilkan nilai tertingi menggunakan Planetary Gearbox pada koefisien daya (Cp) sebesar 0,4624 pada kecepatan angin 4,5 m/s, koefisien torsi (Ct) sebesar 0,5689 pada kecepatan angin 4,0 m/s dan Tip Speed Ratio (TSR) sebesar 0,9649 pada kecepatan angin 5,0 m/s.
