Abstract

In today's digital age, network reliability and performance are crucial to a company's business operations. This research aims to analyze the quality of service (QoS) on the implementation of load balancing and failover in the network of the company case study PT Rajwali Parama Kontruksi as this technique is a common strategy used to improve the service quality (Quality of Service / QoS) in a network. This method calculates major QoS metrics, such as throughput, latency, jitter, packet loss, and availability, both before and after load balancing and failover. The tools used are Axence netTools5, as well as monitoring from EdgeMAX and Unifi to collect data in real time, enabling comprehensive monitoring and analysis of network performance. The results show that, due to the equal load distribution between the two ISPs, load balancing successfully increases throughput and significantly reduces latency and jitter. On the other hand, failover improves accessibility and reduces package loss due to a rapid transition between the main ISP and the backup ensuring service continuity. The research found that using load balancing and failover effectively improved the quality of performance (QoS) of a company's network, with each technique contributing to various aspects of performance. The results of this research are expected to be a reference for companies in optimizing their network infrastructure to better performance and reliability Pada era digital saat ini, keandalan dan kinerja jaringan sangat penting untuk operasi bisnis sebuah perusahaan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis kualitas layanan (QoS) pada penerapan load balancing dan failover di jaringan perusahaan studi kasus PT Rajwali Parama Kontruksi karena teknik ini merupakan strategi yang umum digunakan untuk meningkatkan kualitas layanan (Quality of Service/QoS) dalam jaringan. Metode ini menghitung metrik QoS utama, seperti throughput, latency, jitter, packet loss, dan availability, baik sebelum maupun sesudah penerapan load balancing dan failover. Tools yang digunakan yaitu Axence netTools5, serta monitoring dari EdgeMAX dan Unifi untuk mengumpulkan data secara real-time, memungkinkan pemantauan dan analisis kinerja jaringan yang menyeluruh. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa, karena distribusi beban yang merata di antara kedua ISP, penerapan load balancing berhasil meningkatkan throughput dan menurunkan latency dan jitter secara signifikan. Di sisi lain, penerapan failover meningkatkan aksesibilitas dan mengurangi kehilangan paket karena transisi yang cepat antara ISP utama dan cadangan memastikan kontinuitas layanan. Penelitian ini menemukan bahwa menggunakan load balancing dan failover secara efektif dapat meningkatkan kualitas kinerja (QoS) jaringan suatu perusahaan, dengan masing-masing teknik memberikan kontribusi pada berbagai aspek kinerja. Hasil penelitian ini diharapkan dapat menjadi referensi bagi perusahaan dalam mengoptimalkan infrastruktur jaringan mereka untuk mencapai kinerja dan keandalan yang lebih baik.
