Abstract

ABSTRACT The Pati Kudus highway, located in Kudus Regency, is traversed by a range of vehicles, from light vehicles to heavy trucks, leading to frequent traffic congestion and accelerated pavement deterioration, such as cracking, potholes, and patching. The population recorded an increase of 5.24% in 2023, and vehicle volume grew by 2.57% from the previous year. Preliminary observations indicate that the Pati Kudus road is heavily used by heavy vehicles, as it serves as one of the main access routes to industrial areas. This study utilizes the Liddle Formula, with the k factor referring to the AASHTO 1993 method. The data collection methods employed in this research include primary data obtained through field observations and secondary data, such as vehicle growth rates, sourced from the Central Java Bureau of Statistics (BPS). A preliminary survey was conducted to determine the peak hours for commercial vehicles on the examined road section, which was found to be between 06:00 and 18:00 due to the high volume of commercial traffic (peak hours), while at night, from 18:00 to 06:00, the majority of vehicles passing are night buses. The results of this study indicate that commercial vehicles with excessive loads reduce the pavement lifespan from the expected 10 years to only 6 years when the excess load is 5%, and to just 1 year when the excess load reaches 10%. ABSTRAK Pada jalan raya Pati Kudus tempatnya berada di Kabupaten Kudus dilewati kendaraan ringan hingga kendaraan bertonasese besar, sehingga sering terjadi kemacetan lalu lintas dan perkerasan jalan lebih cepat mengalami kerusakan seperti retak, berlubang, dan tambalan. jumlah penduduk tercatat meningkat mencapai 5,24 % pada tahun 2023, dan volume kendaraan meningkat mencapai 2,57% dari tahun sebelumnya. Berdasarkan pengamatan pendahuluan, jalan Pati Kudus juga banyak dilewati oleh kendaraan berat, sebab jalan Pati Kudus ini merupakan salah satu akses menuju ke kawasan industri. Penelitian ini menggunakan Rumus Liddle, dengan faktor k mengacu pada metode AASTHO 1993. Metode pengumpulan data yang digunakan oleh penulis dalam melakukan penelitian ini adalah data primer dengan melakukan observasi di lapangan, data sekunder yakni angka pertumbuhan kendaraan diperoleh dari BPS Jawa Tengah. Survey pendahuluan juga telah dilakukan untuk memastikan waktu kendaraan niaga melintas di ruas terperiksa, diketahui yakni pada pukul 06.00 – 18.00 sore dikarenakan banyak kendaraan niaga yang melintas (jam sibuk), sedangkan pada malam hari pada waktu 18.00 malam – 06.00 pagi yang melintas mayoritas hanya bus malam. Dari hasil penelitian ini, diketahui kendaraan niaga dengan beban berlebih menurunkan umur perkerasan yang seharusnya 10 tahun menjadi hanya 6 tahun, jika muatan berlebih 5% menjadi hanya 6 tahun, jika muatan berlebih 10%, menjadi hanya 1 tahun.
