Abstract

In the power generation sector, including in Indonesia, coal-fired power plants are still relied upon. One significant plant is the Lontar Extension Coal-Fired Steam Power Plant (PLTU) (1x315 MW), which is a crucial choice to ensure a reliable electricity supply in the Jakarta area and its surroundings. In its operations, the Lontar Extension PLTU faces challenges related to ash management in the flue gas produced during the coal combustion process. The phenomena of slagging and fouling caused by ash adhering to the boiler tube surfaces can disrupt the heat transfer process and reduce boiler efficiency, consequently increasing fuel consumption. Therefore, the analysis of key parameters such as Net Plant Heat Rate (NPHR) is important to improve the operational performance of the PLTU. In this final project, we conduct an in-depth analysis of boiler efficiency and NPHR, along with other parameters at the Lontar Extension PLTU, considering the use of sootblowers to clean the boiler tubes in the Heat Recovery Area (HRA). Based on research results, at 100% load, the boiler efficiency increased by 0.71% and the NPHR decreased by 33.91 kcal/kWh, while at 50% load, the boiler efficiency increased by 0.63% and the BPHR decreased by 47.16%. Additionally, the operation of the sootblowers also led to an increase in net power output and a decrease in coal fuel consumption. Dalam sektor pembangkit listrik, termasuk di Indonesia, masih mengandalkan pembangkit listrik tenaga batubara. Salah satu pembangkit yang signifikan adalah Pembangkit Listrik Tenaga Uap Batubara (PLTU) Lontar Extension (1x315 MW), yang menjadi pilihan penting untuk memastikan pasokan energi listrik yang andal di wilayah Jakarta dan sekitarnya. Dalam operasinya PLTU Lontar Extension menghadapi tantangan terkait manajemen abu dalam flue gas yang dihasilkan selama proses pembakaran batubara. Fenomena slagging dan fouling yang terjadi akibat abu yang melekat pada permukaan tube boiler dapat mengganggu proses perpindahan panas dan menurunkan efisiensi boiler, dengan konsekuensi meningkatkan konsumsi bahan bakar. Oleh karena itu, analisis terhadap parameter kunci seperti Net Plant Heat Rate (NPHR) menjadi penting untuk meningkatkan kinerja operasional PLTU. Dalam tugas akhir ini, kami melakukan analisis mendalam terhadap efisiensi boiler dan NPHR serta parameter lainnya pada PLTU Lontar Extension dengan mempertimbangkan penggunaan sootblower untuk membersihkan tube boiler di Heat Recovery Area (HRA). Berdasarkan hasil penelitian di beban 100 % nilai efisiensi boiler mengalami kenaikan 0.71 % dan NPHR turun sebesar 33.91 kcal/kwh, sedangkan di beban 50 % efisiensi boiler mengalami kenaikan 0.63 % dan NPHR turun 47.16 %. Disamping itu, dengan pengoperasian sootblower juga berdampak pada kenaikan daya output netto dan penurunan konsumsi bahan bakar batubara.
