Abstract
The security of information systems is a crucial aspect in the digital era, especially for educational institutions that rely on technology to support the teaching and learning process. Universities in Jakarta and Aceh use e-learning systems to facilitate online learning and interaction between students and lecturers. However, with the increasing cyber threats, it is essential to ensure that these e-learning systems are secure and protected from various potential attacks. This study aims to evaluate the security of e-learning systems at universities in Jakarta and Aceh through penetration testing methods based on the ISSAF (Information Systems Security Assessment Framework) framework. ISSAF is a comprehensive framework for penetration testing and network security, equipped with various tools designed to identify and exploit system vulnerabilities. The research methodology involves several stages, including planning, information gathering, vulnerability analysis, exploitation, and reporting. The results of the penetration testing indicate several vulnerabilities in the e-learning systems at both universities that could be exploited by attackers to gain unauthorized access or disrupt system operations. The findings of this study are expected to provide a clear picture of the security level of e-learning systems at universities in Jakarta and Aceh. Recommendations for improvement are also presented to address the identified vulnerabilities, thus enhancing the security and integrity of the systems. This study contributes to efforts to improve information security in academic environments, ensuring a safe and reliable teaching and learning process. . Keamanan sistem informasi merupakan aspek krusial dalam era digital, terutama bagi institusi pendidikan yang mengandalkan teknologi untuk mendukung proses belajar mengajar. Universitas di Jakarta dan Universitas di Aceh menggunakan sistem e-learning untuk memfasilitasi pembelajaran daring dan interaksi antara mahasiswa dan dosen. Namun, dengan meningkatnya ancaman siber, penting untuk memastikan bahwa sistem e-learning tersebut aman dan terlindungi dari berbagai potensi serangan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengevaluasi keamanan sistem e-learning di Universitas di Jakarta dan Universitas di Aceh melalui metode penetration testing berbasis framework ISSAF (Information Systems Security Assessment Framework). ISSAF adalah kerangka kerja yang komprehensif untuk pengujian penetrasi dan keamanan jaringan, yang dilengkapi dengan berbagai alat yang dirancang untuk mengidentifikasi dan mengeksploitasi kerentanan sistem. Metodologi penelitian melibatkan beberapa tahap, termasuk perencanaan, pengumpulan informasi, analisis kerentanan, eksploitasi, dan pelaporan. Hasil penetration testing menunjukkan adanya beberapa kerentanan pada sistem elearning di kedua universitas yang dapat dieksploitasi oleh penyerang untuk mendapatkan akses tidak sah atau mengganggu operasi sistem. Temuan penelitian ini diharapkan dapat memberikan gambaran yang jelas mengenai tingkat keamanan sistem e-learning di Universitas di Jakarta dan Universitas di Aceh. Rekomendasi perbaikan juga disajikan untuk mengatasi kerentanan yang ditemukan, sehingga dapat meningkatkan keamanan dan integritas sistem. Dengan demikian, penelitian ini berkontribusi pada upaya peningkatan keamanan informasi di lingkungan akademik, serta memastikan keberlangsungan proses belajar mengajar yang aman dan terpercaya.
