Abstract
The entry of colonial architecture in Indonesia began when the European Nation colonized the Indonesian. Initially colonial architecture was built by architects of the European with reference to environmental conditions in Europe, until finally the European architects negotiated the function of the building which had to provide a sense of comfort to the user, so there was an adaptation of colonial buildings in Indonesia. The purpose of this research is to find out the adaptation of colonial buildings that have been applied in the Building of GPIB Sion Jakarta. This research is focused on the adaptation process that is applied to several related elements, such as: Building Orientation, Plans, Walls, Openings (doors, windows and ceilings), Floors, Roofs, Ceilings, and Building Forms. This research relates to the materials used, dimensions, orientation, and shapes which applied to building objects. Masuknya arsitektur kolonial di Indonesia yaitu saat Bangsa Eropa menjajah Bangsa Indonesia. Awalnya arsitektur kolonial dibangun oleh arsitek dari Bangsa Eropa dengan mengacu pada kondisi lingkungan di Eropa, sampai pada akhirnya para arsitek Eropa merundingkan tentang fungsi bangunan yang harus memberikan rasa nyaman bagi pengguna, maka terjadilah adaptasi bangunan kolonial di Indonesia. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui perkembangan adaptasi bangunan kolonial yang telah diterapkan dalam Bangunan GPIB Sion Jakarta. Penelitian ini difokuskan pada proses adaptasi yang diterapkan pada beberapa elemen yang terkait, seperti: Orientasi Bangunan, Denah, Dinding, Bukaan (pintu, jendela dan ventiasi), Lantai, Atap, Plafond, dan Bentuk Bangunan. Penelitian ini berkaitan dengan bahan yang digunakan, dimensi, orientasi, dan bentuk yang diterapkan pada objek bangunan.
