Abstract

Cultivation of plants, including chili peppers, requires various supporting factors such as seed quality, irrigation systems, and proper fertilizer application. In Indonesia, chili production remains low, averaging 6.7 tons per hectare, partly due to weather affecting soil quality. Manual watering is often irregular, leading to suboptimal soil moisture. This study aims to develop an automatic watering system and a web-based application for monitoring the temperature and humidity of chili plants using ESP32. The prototype of the automatic watering system was created using ESP32 as the microcontroller, DHT 11 sensor for air temperature and humidity, YL-69 sensor for soil moisture, and an OLED 64x128 display. This system maintains soil moisture between 60%-80% with automatic watering and monitors data every second. The web application was developed using PHP, MySQL, JavaScript, and Bootstrap to display real-time monitoring data. Test results show that the ideal time interval for sending soil moisture data is more than 10 minutes to avoid inconsistent fluctuations. The DHT 11 sensor has an average accuracy of 97.89% for temperature, and an average humidity accuracy of 80.67%, the YL-69 soil moisture sensor has an average accuracy of 98.23%. In conclusion, this automatic watering system is effective in maintaining optimal conditions for the growth of chili plants and the web application makes monitoring easier. Budidaya tanaman, termasuk Cabai, memerlukan berbagai faktor penunjang seperti kualitas benih, sistem pengairan, dan penerapan pupuk yang tepat. Di Indonesia, produksi Cabai masih rendah, rata-rata 6,7 ton per hektar, sebagian disebabkan oleh cuaca yang memengaruhi kualitas tanah. Penyiraman manual sering tidak teratur, menyebabkan kelembaban tanah yang tidak optimal. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengembangkan sistem penyiraman otomatis dan aplikasi web berbasis monitoring suhu dan kelembaban tanaman Cabai menggunakan ESP32. Prototipe sistem penyiraman otomatis dibuat dengan menggunakan ESP32 sebagai mikrokontroler, sensor DHT 11 untuk suhu dan kelembaban udara, sensor YL-69 untuk kelembaban tanah, dan display OLED 64x128. Sistem ini menjaga kelembaban tanah antara 60%-80% dengan penyiraman otomatis, dan memonitor data setiap detik. Aplikasi web dikembangkan menggunakan PHP, MySQL, Javascript, dan Bootstrap untuk menampilkan data monitoring secara real-time. Hasil pengujian menunjukkan bahwa interval waktu pengiriman data kelembaban tanah yang ideal adalah lebih dari 10 menit untuk menghindari fluktuasi yang tidak konsisten. Sensor DHT 11 memiliki rata-rata akurasi 97,89 % untuk temperature, dan rata-rata akurasi humidity 80,67%, soil moisture sensor YL-69 memiliki rata-rata akurasi 98,23%. Kesimpulannya, sistem penyiraman otomatis ini efektif dalam menjaga kondisi optimal bagi pertumbuhan tanaman Cabai dan aplikasi web memberikan kemudahan dalam monitoring.
