Abstract

The development of the construction sector in Indonesia has shown significant growth, especially in the infrastructure, residential, and industrial sub-sectors, with a projected growth of 5-6% in 2023. However, challenges in project management such as persistent delays remain a major issue. This research aims to analyze the implementation of the Critical Path Method (CPM) in construction project management to address delays, improve efficiency, and minimize costs without compromising quality. Applied research is used to identify concrete solutions and develop effective strategies in practical contexts. Data indicates that all tasks on the critical path affect the overall project duration, with significant delays of up to 207 days due to social, environmental, and management factors. Obstacles such as restricted access, disruptions in work hours, technical issues, community demonstrations, and delayed material deliveries also contribute to the delays. Environmental conditions such as soft soil and high rainfall exacerbate the situation. The findings of this research are expected to provide insights into the effectiveness of CPM implementation and potential challenges, as well as recommendations for enhancing construction project management in Indonesia. With proper application of CPM, it is anticipated that projects can be completed on time, efficiently, and within planned budgets, while maintaining quality and adhering to existing constraints. Perkembangan sektor konstruksi di Indonesia menunjukkan pertumbuhan signifikan, terutama pada sub-sektor infrastruktur, residensial, dan industri, dengan prediksi pertumbuhan sebesar 5-6% pada tahun 2023. Namun, tantangan dalam manajemen proyek seperti keterlambatan waktu penyelesaian tetap menjadi masalah utama. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis penerapan metode Critical Path Method (CPM) dalam manajemen proyek konstruksi guna mengatasi masalah keterlambatan, meningkatkan efisiensi, dan meminimalkan biaya tanpa mengorbankan mutu. Penelitian terapan digunakan untuk mengidentifikasi solusi konkret dan mengembangkan strategi yang efektif dalam konteks praktis. Data menunjukkan bahwa semua pekerjaan pada jalur kritis mempengaruhi durasi keseluruhan proyek, dengan keterlambatan signifikan hingga 207 hari akibat faktor sosial, lingkungan, dan manajemen. Hambatan seperti akses terbatas, gangguan jam kerja, masalah teknis, demonstrasi masyarakat, dan keterlambatan pengiriman material turut berkontribusi pada keterlambatan. Kondisi lingkungan seperti tanah yang lembek dan curah hujan tinggi juga memperburuk situasi. Hasil penelitian ini diharapkan dapat memberikan wawasan tentang efektivitas penerapan CPM dan hambatan yang mungkin muncul, serta memberikan rekomendasi untuk peningkatan manajemen proyek konstruksi di Indonesia. Dengan penerapan CPM yang tepat, diharapkan proyek dapat diselesaikan tepat waktu, efisien, dan sesuai anggaran yang direncanakan, sambil tetap menjaga mutu dan mematuhi batasan yang ada.
