Abstract

One factor that forms slums in Jakarta, population growth, and costs from outside the region and cannot be balanced in the development of urban facilities and infrastructure and the expansion of urban services makes slum settlements more widespread in several areas in Jakarta. The original area of the Lower Dam is a densely populated area and is one of the slum areas. Because of the fire that happened the Rumah Susun Benhil II were built. The process of adapting its citizens took place not easily, now the residents of the flats have been picked up by migrants. For those of the original inhabitants before staying in the apartment, they originally made it, the alleys as a means now have turned into a corridor. Field as a place they gather with communal space. Because of factors such as visual end. in this study using qualitative methods with a narrative approach. To multiply what kind of residents use the communal space provided to be their container. The method of data collection is done by questionnaires and interviews with several original residents. The results concluded from the number of respondents using communal space have changed functions a lot. New communal space has also been created as a place for them to interact socially. The role of communal space is still fairly important, the reason for certain events or activities. For this reason there are more formal and informal activities with weekly frequency. Salah satu faktor yang membentuk slum area di Jakarta akibat besarnya pertumbuhan penduduk dan banyaknya migrasi dari luar daerah dan tidak diimbanginya pembangunan sarana dan prasarana kota dan peningkatan pelayanan perkotaan membuat permukiman kumuh semakin meluas di beberapa daerah di Jakarta. Semula kawasan Bendungan Hilir merupakan kawasan padat penduduk dan merupakan salah satu kawasan slum area. Karena musibah kebakaran yg terjadi dibangunlah Rumah Susun Benhil II. Proses adaptasi para warganya berlangsung tidak mudah, kini para penghuni rusun telah didominasi oleh para pendatang. Bagi mereka penghuni asli sebelum tinggal dirusun, semula mereka menjadikan, gang-gang sebagai sarana berinteraksi kini telah berubah menjadi koridor. Lapangan sebagai tempat mereka berkumpul digantikan dengan ruang komunal. Karena fenomena seperti itulah akhirnya didapatkan pola pemanfaatan ruang komunal. dalam penelitian ini menggunakan metode kualitatif dengan pendekatan naratif. Untuk mengali seperti apa para penghuni rusun memanfaatkan ruang komunal yang disedian untuk menjadi wadah mereka berinteraksi. Metode penggumpulan data dilakukan dengan cara kuisioner dan wawancara sejumlah penghuni asli. Hasil yang disimpulkan dari sejumlah responden penggunaan ruang komunal telah banyak beralih fungsi. Telah tercipta pula ruang komunal baru sebagai tempat mereka berinteraksi social. Peranan ruang komunal masih terbilang penting, sebab untuk acara atau kegiatan tertentu pemanfaatan ruang komunal masih digunakan dengan pola intensitas sedang. Sebab intensitas tersebut lebih banyak dipengaruhi oelh kegiatan formal dan informal dengan prekuensi mingguan.
