Abstract

Kendaraan roda empat menjadi elemen vital dalam aktivitas operasional karena memberikan kenyamanan dan keamanan dalam transportasi. Namun, kurangnya pemahaman pengguna dalam merawat kendaraan menyebabkan kegagalan dan gejala kerusakan sering diabaikan. Inspeksi kendaraan operasional yang terbatas hanya pada pengisian formulir di PT. Putraduta Buanasentosa membuatnya kurang efektif dalam memastikan kondisi kendaraan. Oleh karena itu, penelitian ini mengusulkan pengembangan aplikasi pengganti formulir pemeriksaan kendaraan dengan menggunakan algoritma Forward Chaining dan Backward Chaining, mengumpulkan data dan mendiagnosis gejala serta kerusakan untuk memberikan solusi perawatan. Referensi dari penelitian terdahulu menunjukkan keberhasilan algoritma ini dalam mendiagnosis kendaraan dan menjadi landasan bagi tahapan selanjutnya dari penelitian ini, mulai dari perancangan aplikasi hingga laporan hasil penelitian. Penelitian sebelumnya yang menggunakan algoritma Forward Chaining berhasil menciptakan aplikasi untuk mendiagnosis kerusakan sepeda motor dengan tingkat akurasi 70% dalam 30 uji coba. Sementara itu, penelitian lain menunjukkan sistem pakar untuk mendiagnosis kerusakan mesin Vespa 2-tak dengan efektifitas membantu pengguna tanpa kunjungan langsung ke bengkel. Di sisi lain, penelitian mengenai Backward Chaining berhasil mengidentifikasi gangguan layanan E- Government dengan tingkat akurasi 92%. Selain itu, perbandingan antara Forward dan Backward Chaining dalam diagnosis perkembangan anak usia dini menyimpulkan bahwa keduanya memiliki kelebihan tersendiri dalam mendeteksi gejala dan jenis masalah. Dari penelitian terdahulu, terlihat bahwa kedua metode deduksi ini dapat memberikan solusi yang optimal dari informasi yang ada. Diharapkan penelitian ini akan memberikan kontribusi pada pemahaman perawatan kendaraan operasional dan memberikan solusi yang lebih efektif dalam menjaga kondisi kendaraan di perusahaan.The four-wheeled vehicle has become a vital element in operational activities as it provides comfort and safety in transportation. However, the lack of User understanding in maintaining vehicles leads to frequent failures and overlooked signs of damage. Limited operational vehicle inspections, merely involving form filling at PT. Putraduta Buanasentosa, render it less effective in ensuring vehicle conditions. Hence, this research proposes the development of an application to replace the vehicle inspection form by utilizing Forward Chaining and Backward Chaining algorithms. These algorithms collect data, diagnose symptoms, and address damages to provide maintenance solutions. Previous research references indicate the success of these algorithms in diagnosing vehicles, forming the basis for subsequent stages in this study—from application design to research result reporting. Previous research utilizing the Forward Chaining algorithm successfully created an application to diagnose motorcycle damages with a 70% accuracy rate in 30 trials. Meanwhile, other studies showed an expert system diagnosing issues in 2- stroke Vespa engines effectively, aiding Users without direct visits to workshops. Conversely, research on Backward Chaining successfully identified disruptions in E-Government services with a 92% accuracy rate. Furthermore, a comparison between Forward and Backward Chaining in diagnosing early childhood development concluded that both methods have their strengths in detecting symptoms and types of problems. Previous research suggests that both deduction methods can offer optimal solutions based on existing information. It is hoped that this research will contribute to understanding the maintenance of operational vehicles and provide more effective solutions to maintain vehicle conditions within the company.
