Abstract
Electricity is an essential need in modern human life and is crucial for the sustainability and reliability of the electrical system. In the process of electricity distribution, there are three main stages: generation, transmission, and distribution. Transmission lines are not exempt from disturbances, one of which is a short-circuit fault that can disrupt the distribution of electrical power to consumers. A detection system is needed to determine the fault location so that it can be handled quickly and accurately. This study aims to analyze the determination of short-circuit fault locations on the 150 kV transmission line at the Lembursitu Substation using the Takagi method. The Takagi method relies on the concept of superposition current, where the difference between the fault current and the pre-fault current is used to isolate the fault component. This reduces the influence of load flow and fault resistance effects, resulting in more accurate calculations. The analysis is conducted through calculations and historical data, as well as a comparative evaluation with fault locator devices. The research results show that the Takagi method has the smallest error value of 1.75% and the largest error value of 12.453%, with an average error of 7.1427% compared to the traveling wave signal method, which has an average error of 17.428%. Thus, the Takagi method is proven to be more accurate and reliable in determining short-circuit fault locations on the 150 kV transmission line at the Lembursitu Substation, especially in conditions where measurement accuracy is critical. Keywords: Takagi Method, Fault Location, Transmission Line, Fault Locator.
