Abstract

The rapid development of technology requires high-speed transmission media to meet these needs. The use of internet networks with the FTTH method has now replaced the limited copper networks. Although FTTH networks with the conventional method offer reliable and high-quality fiber optic connectivity, there are several drawbacks to consider, including construction time, the amount of manpower, and the loss value which is directly proportional to the length of the network. The use of Quick ODN technology can minimize these problems in FTTH networks. This study was conducted to compare the loss values obtained from designing networks with conventional and Quick ODN methods as well as the number of workdays spent building one area. The design was carried out by calculating the loss values in Terusan Village and also testing the feasibility of the FTTH network system with a link power budget. From the research results, it can be seen that the smallest loss value obtained from the design is 21.11965 dB in the network design using Quick ODN technology with a detector sensitivity of -28 dBm. From these calculations, the receiver power (Prx) value obtained is -18.11965 dBm. Keyword : FTTH, Fiber optic, Quick ODN, ITU, Power Link Budget Perkembangan teknologi yang semakin pesat membutuhkan media transmisi dengan kecepatan tinggi agar memenuhi kebutuhan tersebut. Penggunaan jaringan internet dengan metode FTTH kini telah menggantikan jaringan tembaga yang terbatas. Meskipun jaringan FTTH dengan metode conventional menawarkan konektivitas serat optik yang andal dan berkualitas, ada beberapa kekurangan yang harus diperhitungkan, di antaranya terkait dengan waktu konstruksi, jumlah man power serta nilai losses yang berbanding lurus dengan panjang jaringan tersebut. Dengan digunakannya teknologi Quick ODN, permasalahan pada jaringan FTTH ini dapat diminimalisir. Penelitian ini dilakukan untuk membandingkan nilai losses yang didapatkan dari perancangan jaringan dengan metode conventional dan Quick ODN serta jumlah hari kerja yang dihabiskan untuk membangun satu area. Perancangan dilakukan dengan perhitungan nilai losses di Desa Terusan dan juga menguji kelayakan sistem jaringan FTTH tersebut dengan link power budget. Dari hasil penelitian, dapat diketahui bahwa nilai losses terkecil yang didapatkan dari perancangan tersebut adalah sebesar 21.11965 dB pada perancangan jaringan dengan menggunakan teknologi Quick ODN dengan sensitivitas detektor sebesar -28 dBm. Dari hasil perhitungan tersebut didapatkan pula nilai power receiver (Prx) sebesar - 18.11965 dBm. Kata Kunci : FTTH, Fiber optic, Quick ODN, ITU, Power Link Budget
