Abstract

The objective of this research is to design a bandpass filter with an operating frequency of 3.5 GHz using Substrate Integrated Waveguide (SIW) technology with the Sixteenth-Mode Substrate Integrated Waveguide (SMSIW) method and to validate it using measurement tools. In previous research, the miniaturization of a bandpass filter fabricated using Rogers RT/Duroid 5880 substrate with a thickness of 0.787 mm at a frequency of 2.45 GHz resulted in a bandwidth of 8.2%. The measurement results showed an insertion loss of 0.9 dB and a return loss below 10 dB. In this research, the simulation results showed a frequency of 3460 MHz with a bandwidth of 12.2% and an insertion loss of -0.45 dB. Fabrication using Rogers RT/Duroid 5880 substrate experienced a deviation of 160 MHz in the center frequency, with an insertion loss and return loss of 0.28 dB and a deviation of 1.84 dB, respectively. The comparison between simulation and measurement of the SMSIW configuration with Complementary Split Ring Resonator (CSRR) square and rhombic obtained an insertion loss below 1 dB and a return loss greater than -15 dB. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah merancang bandpass filter dengan frekuensi kerja 3,5 GHz yang menggunakan teknologi Substrate Integrated Waveguide (SIW) dengan metode Sixteenth-Mode Substrate Integrated Waveguide (SMSIW) serta melakukan validasi menggunakan alat ukur. Pada penelitian sebelumnya, miniaturisasi bandpass filter yang di fabrikasi menggunakan substrat Rogers RT/Duroid 5880 dengan ketebalan 0,787 dilakukan pada frekuensi 2,45 GHz menghasilkan bandwidth sebesar 8,2%. Dengan hasil pengukuran insertion loss sebesar 0,9 dB dan return loss dibawah 10 dB. Pada penelitian ini hasil simulasi menunjukan frekuensi sebesar 3460 MHz dengan bandwidth 12,2 % dan insertion loss sebesar -0,45 dB. Fabrikasi menggunakan substrat Rogers RT/Duroid 5880 mengalami deviasi sebesar 160 MHz pada frekuensi tengah, dengan insertion loss dan return loss masingmasing 0,28 dB dengan deviasi 1,84 dB. Perbandingan antara simulasi dan pengukuran dari konfigurasi SMSIW dengan Complementary Split Ring Resonator (CSRR) square dan rhombic mendapatkan nilai insertion loss dibawah 1 dB dan return loss lebih besar dari -15 dB.
