Abstract

This research is to know the effect of earnings and cash flow to financial distress. The population in this research is coal mining company which is divided in 3 sub which are mineral, coal, and gas oil which is listed in Indonesia Stock Exchange year 2012-2014. The total population in this study are 20 mining companies listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange. The sample of this study used a sample of 20 mining companies listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange. Sampling technique through purposive sampling method. This research uses causative research and data analysis method used in this research is multiple linear regression analysis using SPSS 20 software. The results of this study indicate that the variable earnings partially have a significant positive effect on financial distress, while the variable cash flow partially has no effect on financial distress. While based on the results of hypothesis testing simultaneously (statistical test F) shows that earnings and cash flow together have a significant influence on financial distress in mining companies with a significance level 0.000. Value Adjusted R Square of 0.365 this means 36.5% shows the effect of the given profit and cash flow to financial distress, while the rest of 0.635 it means 63.5% shows influenced by other factors from outside the variable earnings and cash flow against financial distress in this study. Penelitian ini untuk mengetahui pengaruh laba dan arus kas terhadap financial distress. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah perusahaan pertambangan batu bara yang terbagi di 3 sub yaitu logam mineral, batu bara, dan minyak gas yang terdaftar di Bursa Efek Indonesia tahun 2012-2014. Jumlah populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah 20 perusahaan pertambangan yang terdaftar di Bursa Efek Indonesia. Sampel dari penelitian ini menggunakan sampel sebanyak 20 perusahaan pertambangan yang terdaftar di Bursa Efek Indonesia. Teknik pengambilan sampel melalui metode purposive sampling. Penelitian ini menggunakan penelitian kausatif dan metode analisis data yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah analisis regresi linier berganda menggunakan software SPSS 20. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa variabel laba secara parsial berpengaruh positif signifikan terhadap financial distress, sementara variabel arus kas secara parsial tidak berpengaruh terhadap financial distress. Sedangkan berdasarkan hasil uji hipotesis secara simultan ( uji statistik F ) menunjukkan bahwa laba dan arus kas secara bersama-sama memiliki pengaruh yang signifikan terhadap financial distress pada perusahaan pertambangan dengan tingkat signifikasi 0.000. Nilai Adjusted R Square sebesar 0.365 hal ini berarti 36,5% menunjukkan besar pengaruh yang diberikan laba dan arus kas terhadap financial distress, sedangkan sisanya sebesar 0.635 hal ini berarti 63,5% menunjukkan dipengaruhi oleh faktor lain dari luar variabel laba dan arus kas terhadap financial distress dalam penelitian ini.
