Abstract

The Faculty of Computer Science (Fasilkom) at Mercubuana University as one of the providers of Information Systems education has created course majors aimed at supporting the competency of student graduates, so that students focus more on improving their knowledge and skills in accordance with their specialist fields and student interests. However, students often hesitate and are not sure about choosing their own specialization, often just following the choices of other students or their parents' choices, so that as time passes in the following semester, students repeat their specialization courses which are more suitable to their choice. So it is not effective for students in college teaching and learning activities. So the author made a final assignment about a decision support system that can help students take specialization courses that suit their interests and talents. The aim of this research is to create a decision support system for determining student majors using the Simple Additive Weighting (SAW) method. Keywords: Decision Support System, Majors Students, Simple Additive Weighting (SAW) Method Fakultas Ilmu Komputer (Fasilkom) pada Universitas Mercubuana sebagai salah satu penyelenggara pendidikan Siatem Informasi membuat penjurusan mata kuliah bertujuan untuk mendukung kompetensi lulusan mahasiwa, sehingga mahasiswa lebih fokus meningkatkan pengetahuan dan skill sesuai dengan bidang spesialis dan minat mahasiswa. Namun, seringkali mahasiswa sering ragu dan tidak yakin dalam memilih peminatan mereka sendiri, seringkali hanya mengikuti pilihan dari mahasiwa yang lain atau pilihan orang tua mereka, sehingga seiring waktu berjalan pada semester berikut nya mahasiwa mengulang kembali mata kuliah peminatannya yang lebih cocok dengan pilihan mereka. Sehingga tidak efektif bagi mahasiswa dalam kegiatan belajar mengajar kuliah. Sehingga penulis membuat tugas akhir tentang Sistem pendukung keputusan yang dapat membantu mahasiswa dalam mengambil mata kuliah peminatanan yang sesuai dengan minat dan bakat nya. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk membuat sistem pendukung keputusan menentukan jurusan mahasiswa menggunakan metode Simple Additive Weighting(SAW). Kata Kunci : Sistem Pendukung Keputusan, Peminatan, Metode Simple Additive Weighting (SAW).
