Abstract

In the era of globalisation and non-renewable energy savings require innovation, one of which is drying technology, olive leaves have many benefits for the world of health and can be consumed as herbal tea drinks. In the production of olive leaf processing requires drying time and a large area of land and uses sunlight energy as a drying medium, so the resulting production capacity is still very small. The conventional drying process can be assisted by using a dryer in the form of a Rotary dryer. Rotary dryer is a tool for drying that provides the speed of the drying process because of the efficiency of the place that does not need a large area and the drying process uses a heater with a solar panel electric energy source. with a double diamond design method, which is a structured approach in design that helps designers to better understand problems, identify innovative solutions, and produce more effective designs. The design of the machine must be efficient and standard specifications in order to produce the right design to support the production of olive leaf drying, so the authors took the initiative to do mechanical design how to design a design model for olive leaf drying capacity that meets standards and efficient production using Autodesk Inventor 2015 software. Keywords: Rotary Dryer, drying process, olive leaf, mechanical design Pada era globalisasi dan pengehematan energy yang tidak bisa diperbarui memerlukan inovasi, salah satunya teknologi pengeringan, daun zaitun memiliki banyak sekali manfaat bagi dunia kesahatan dan dapat dikonsumsi sebagai minuman teh herbal. Pada produksi pengolahan daun zaitun memerlukan waktu pengeringan dan lahan yang luas serta menggunakan energy sinar matahari sebagai media penjemuran, sehingga kapasitas produksi yang dihasilkan masih sangat kecil. Proses pengeringan yang masih konvensional tersebut dapat dibantu dengan menggunakan alat pengering berupa Rotary dryer. Rotary dryer merupakan alat untuk pengeringan yang memberikan kecepatan proses pengeringan karena efisiensi tempat yang tidak perlu lahan luas serta proses pengeringan menggunakan heater dengan sumber energy listrik panel surya.dengan metode perancangan double diamond yaitu pendekatan terstruktur dalam perancangan desain yang membantu perancang untuk lebih memahami masalah, mengidentifikasi solusi yang inovatif, dan menghasilkan desain yang lebih efektif. Perancangan mesin harus sesuai efisien dan spesifikasi standar agar dihasilkan rancang bangun tepat untuk mendukung produksi pengeringan daun zaitun, maka penulis berinisiatif melakukan perancangan mekanikal bagaimana mendesain suatu model rancang bangun untuk kapasitas pengeringan daun zaitun yang sesuai standar dan efisien produksi dengan menggunakan software Autodesk Inventor 2015.
