Abstract
Plastic is a material that is light, elastic, practical and has an important role in human life. One type of plastic is PVC plastic or Poly-vinly Chloride which is an economical and versatile thermoplastic that is commonly applied in the building construction industry. The weakness of PVC plastic is that it is brittle, to increase the ductility and toughness of PVC products, a certain level of plasticizer needs to be added, but without eliminating the rigidity of the PVC. This research will carry out a mixing process between PVC and VCO plasticizer and adding THF as a solvent, with a ratio of PVC 62.5%, 58%, 56.2%, 55%, 54.1%, VCO 37.5%, 42%, 43.8%, 45% , 45.9% and THF 13 ml with a final shape measuring 25 mm x 20 mm and then tensile testing, diffusion testing, contact angle testing and hardness testing will be carried out. The results obtained from tensile testing were 1.64, 2.08, 2.74, 3.96 and 3.56 N/mm2. Diffusion testing by immersing for 60 and 15 minutes obtained final weight results of 0.5, 0.6, 0.7, 0.8 and 0.9 Kg. Water contact angle tests carried out obtained angle results of 750, 700, 450, 350 and 200. Hardness tests carried out obtained results of 46.8, 39.9, 37.9, 35.5 and 35.1 HA. It is necessary to carry out preparations with a larger range, XRD testing, microstructural testing and DSC testing in order to improve the results of this research. Salah satu jenis plastik adalah plastik PVC atau Poly-vinly Chloride yang merupakan termoplastik ekonomis dan serbaguna yang lazim diaplikasikan pada industri kontruksi bangunan. Kelemahan plastik PVC adalah getas, untuk meningkatkan keuletan dan ketangguhan dari produk PVC, perlu ditambahkan plastisizer dengan kadar tertentu, namun tanpa menghilangkan sifat kekakuan dari PVC tersebut. Penelitian ini akan melakukan suatu proses pencampuran antara PVC dengan plastisizer VCO dan ditambahkan dengan THF sebagai pelarut, dengan perbandingan antara PVC 62.5%, 58%, 56.2%, 55%, 54.1%, VCO 37.5%, 42%, 43.8%, 45%, 45.9% dan THF 13 ml dengan bentuk akhir berukuran 25 mm x 20 mm dan selanjutnya akan dilakukan pengujian tarik, pengujian difusi, pengujian sudut kontak dan pengujian kekerasan. Hasil yang didapatkan dari pengujian tarik sebesar 1,64, 2,08, 2,74, 3,96 dan 3,56 N/mm2. Pengujian difusi dengan melakukan perendaman selama 60 dan 15 menit mendapatkan hasil berat akhir sebesar 0,5, 0,6, 0,7, 0,8 dan 0,9 Kg. Pengujian sudut kontak air yang dilakukan mendapatkan hasil sudut sebesar 750, 700, 450, 350 dan 200. Pengujian kekerasan yang dilakukan mendapatkan hasil sebesar 46,8, 39,9, 37,9, 35,5 dan 35,1 HA. Perlu dilakukan preparasi dengan range lebih besar, pengujian XRD, pengujian mikrostruktur dan pengujian DSC agar dapat meningkatkan kembali hasil penelitian ini.
