Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk melihat hubungan antara Hardiness dengan Stres Akademik pada mahasiswa yang bekerja full-time di Jakarta. Stres akademik merupakan kondisi frustasi akademik individu di lingkungan kampus yang membuat individu tidak mampu menyesuaikan diri sehingga timbul masalah fisik dan perasaan tidak bahagia (Lin & Chen, 2009). Sedangkan hardiness merupakan ciri kepribadian individu yang mampu membatasi pengaruh negatif dari tekanan kehidupan melalui 3 proses evaluatif kognitif, meliputi komitmen, tantangan, dan kontrol (Benishek & Lopez, 2001). Sampel dalam penelitian ini berjumlah 368 orang. Pengambilan sampel menggunakan teknik accidental sampling. Metode analisis data dengan Pearson Product Moment. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan terdapat hubungan negatif signifikan antara Hardiness dengan Stres Akademik pada mahasiswa yang bekerja full-time di Jakarta (r = -0.281, p = 0.001). Semakin tinggi hardiness, maka semakin rendah stres akademik. Semakin rendah hardiness, maka semakin tinggi stres akademik. This research aims to examine the relationship between hardiness and academic stress in full-time working students in Jakarta. Academic stress in a condition of frustation within the academic environment that renders individuals unable to adapt, leading to physical problems and feelings of unhappiness (Lin & Chen, 2009). On the other hand, hardiness is a personality trait that enables individuals to limit the negative influence of life pressure through three evaluative cognitive processes: commitment, challenge, and control (Benishek & Lopez, 2001). The sample size for this study is 368 individuals, selected using accidental sampling techniques. Data analysis was conducted using the Pearson Product Moment method. The research results indicate a significant negative relationship between hardiness and academic stress in full-time working students in Jakarta (r = -0.281, p = 0.001). The higher the hardiness, the lower the academic stress. Conversely, the lower the hardiness, the higher the academic stress.
