Abstract
To support the development of the LNG industry in Indonesia, it is necessary to develop a safe and optimal LNG transportation solution. Therefore, the purpose of this research is to design an ISO 1496-3 Standard LNG container tank: 2019 Size 45.8 m3 as a medium for LNG delivery and storage. The methodology of this research is to determine the volume requirements of LNG in the ISO 1496-3: 2019 Container Tank, selection of tank material that can work at a temperature of -160 oC according to the nature of LNG is SA-240M 304, dimensional design in Autocad, followed by 2-D tank modeling. Analysis of tank strength through variations in tank thickness from 5.23 mm, 5.21 mm and 5.19 mm using Ansys and manual calculations. The results showed that the design of the LNG container tank according to ISO 1496-3:2019 which meets ASME Section VIII Division I uses SA-240M 304 with a thickness of 5.22 mm in the head and 5.23 mm in the shell. By using a thickness of 5.23 mm on the shell, the Von Mises stress has a safety factor of 1.156. While in the head, the largest Von Mises stress value is still below the allowable stress. By using thickness variations of 5.21 mm and 5.19 mm on the shell, the resulting Von Mises stress has a safety factor of more than 1. While on the head, Von Mises stress both exceed the allowable stress. So it can be concluded that with a thickness of 5.23 mm the LNG container tank is feasible to produce. Keyword: ASME Section VIII Division I, LNG, SA-240M 304, Standard ISO 1496-3:2019, LNG Container Tank, Von Mises Stress Untuk mendukung pengembangan industri LNG di Indonesia perlu dikembangkan solusi transportasi LNG yang aman dan optimal. Oleh karena itu tujuan penelitian ini untuk merancang tangki kontainer LNG Standar ISO 1496-3: 2019 Ukuran 45,8 m3 sebagai media pengantaran dan penyimpanan LNG. Metodologi penelitian ini dengan menentukan kebutuhan volume LNG pada Tangki Kontainer ISO 1496-3:2019, pemilihan material tangki yang bisa bekerja pada suhu -160 oC sesuai sifat LNG adalah SA-240M 304, perancangan dimensi pada Autocad, dilanjutkan pemodelan 2-D tangki. Analisis kekuatan tangki melalui variasi ketebalan tangki dari 5,23 mm, 5,21 mm dan 5,19 mm menggunakan Ansys dan perhitungan manual. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa desain tangki kontainer LNG sesuai ISO 1496-3:2019 yang memenuhi ASME Section VIII Divisi I menggunakan SA-240M 304 dengan ketebalan 5,22 mm pada head dan 5,23 mm pada shell. Dengan menggunakan ketebalan 5.23 mm pada shell, Von Mises stress memiliki safety factor 1,156. Sedangkan pada head, Von Mises stress terbesar nilainya masih dibawah allowable stress. Dengan menggunakan variasi ketebalan 5,21 mm dan 5,19 mm pada shell, Von Mises stress yang dihasilkan memiliki safety factor lebih dari 1. Sedangkan pada head, Von Mises stress keduanya melebihi allowable stress. Sehingga dapat disimpulkan bahwa dengan ketebalan 5,23 mm tangki kontainer LNG layak diproduksi.
