Abstract

The use of quartz sand in large quantities of concrete has the potential to cause damage environment, therefore it is necessary to look for substitute materials to reduce use Quartz sand, one of which can be used is Manufacturing Sand.Azwar.M, 2019 states the use of Manufacturing Sand as a sand substitute Quartz can reduce the compressive strength and workability of concrete. That's why research is wanted find out whether type F additives are added to concrete by substitution Manufacturing Sand can produce better concrete characteristics. Method used in this research is using quantitative methods with varying the dosage of type F additive and varying the Manufacturing Sand substitution 0%,40% and 60% and measure initial setting time, slump and compressive strength at ages 7 and 28 days for each mix design. The research results show that the use of Manufacturing Sand as quartz sand substitute has a significant effect on compressive strength and concrete workability. The more Manufacturing Sand substitutions, the higher the compressive strength and workability of the concrete will decrease, but this can be prevented by addition of additive type F. Based on the analysis of research results, it was concluded that Substitution of quartz sand with Manufacturing Sand can be done by pay attention to the substitution rate and appropriate dosage of type F. Mix design variations with a substitution level of 40% Manufacturing Sand and a type F dosage of 0.7% can be obtained produces concrete with optimal compressive strength. At the age of 7 days 28 days can be obtained 22.55 MPa and 39.21 MPa. However, research needs to be done further to optimize the use of Manufacturing Sand in the mixture concrete with a more variety of mix designs. Penggunaan pasir kuarsa pada beton dalam jumlah besar berpotensi merusak lingkungan, oleh karena itu perlu dicari bahan substitusi untuk mengurangi penggunaan pasir kuarsa, salah satunya yang dapat digunakan adalah Manufacturing Sand. Azwar.M, 2019 menyatakan penggunaan Manufacturing Sand sebagai substitusi pasir kuarsa dapat menurunkan kuat tekan dan workability beton. Untuk itu penelitian ingin mengetahui apakah penambahan additive tipe F pada beton dengan substitusi Manufacturing Sand dapat menghasilkan karakteristik beton yang lebih baik. Metode yang digunakan pada penelitian ini yaitu menggunakan metode kuantitatif dengan memvariasikan dosis additive tipe F dan variasi substitusi Manufacturing Sand 0%,40% serta 60% dan mengukur initial setting time, slump dan kuat tekan pada umur 7 dan 28 hari pada masing-masing mix design. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa penggunaan Manufacturing Sand sebagai pengganti pasir kuarsa memiliki pengaruh yang signifikan terhadap kuat tekan dan workability beton. Semakin banyak substitusi Manufacturing Sand maka kuat tekan dan workability pad beton akan semakin menurun, namun hal ini dapat dicegah dengan penambahan additive tipe F. Berdasarkan analisis hasil penelitian, disimpulkan bahwa substitusi pasir kuarsa dengan Manufacturing Sand dapat dilakukan dengan memperhatikan tingkat substitusi dan dosis tipe F yang tepat. Variasi mix design dengan tingkat substitusi 40% manufacturing sand dan dosis tipe F sebesar 0,7% dapat menghasilkan beton dengan kuat tekan optimal. Dimana pada umur 7 hari 28 hari kuat tekan beton yaitu sebesar 22,55 MPa dan 39,21 Mpa. Namun, perlu dilakukan penelitian lebih lanjut untuk mengoptimalkan penggunaan Manufacturing Sand dalam campuran beton dengan variasi mix design yang lebih luas.
