Abstract

Gym rooms are widely used for physical activities or sports, which often emphasize stamina and strength, so the heat generated from the body can make the room temperature uncomfortable. An air conditioning system is needed to create a comfortable environment for all people and equipment in the room. The use of an HVAC system whose capacity matches the building's cooling load is essential to improve the building's energy efficiency. There are 2 cooling load calculation methods published by ASHRAE, namely Cooling Load Temperature Difference and Transfer Function Method. Both methods have different calculations, therefore this study aims to determine the difference in the results of the CLTD and TFM methods with the object of Gandaria Heights Apartment Gym Room. From the results plan of the two methods in the form of percentage differences in the results of the CLTD and TFM methods. From the calculation using the CLTD and TFM methods, the results obtained amounted to 131881.51 Btu / hr and 123501 Btu/ hr both calculation methods have a difference of 6.4%. The CLTD method calculates the peak cooling load with one step while TFM calculates the two-step cooling load so that the average value of the cooling load that must be disposed of is obtained. Keywords: Cooling Load Temperature Difference, Transfer Function Method, Gym Room Ruang Gym banyak digunakan untuk aktivitas fisik atau olahraga, yang sering kali menekankan pada stamina dan kekuatan, sehingga kalor yang dihasilkan dari dalam tubuh dapat membuat suhu ruang menjadi tidak nyaman. Maka dibutuhkan sistem pendingin udara untuk menciptakan lingkungan yang nyaman bagi semua orang dan peralatan di dalam ruangan. Penggunaan sistem HVAC yang kapasitasnya sesuai dengan beban pendinginan gedung sangat penting untuk meningkatkan efisiensi energi gedung. Terdapat 2 metode perhitungan beban pendingin yang diterbitkan oleh ASHRAE yaitu Cooling Load Temperature Difference dan Transfer Function Method. Kedua metode tersebut memiliki perhitungan yang berbeda, oleh karena itu penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui perbedaan hasil dari metode CLTD dan TFM dengan objek Ruang Gym Gandaria Heights Apartment. Dari rencana hasil kedua metode tersebut berupa persentase perbedaan hasil dari metode CLTD dan TFM. Dari perhitungan menggunakan metode CLTD dan TFM maka didapatkan hasil sebesar 131881.51 Btu/hr dan 123501 Btu/hr kedua metode perhitungan tersebut memiliki selisih sebesar 6.4%. Metode CLTD menghitung beban puncak pendingin dengan satu langkah sedangkan TFM menghitung dua langkah beban pendingin sehingga didapati nilai rata-rata beban pendingin yang harus dibuang.
