Abstract
The demand for maximum generator power availability without interruption when in use depends on the power produced by the main mover, namely the diesel engine. Lack of attention to maintenance and operation will cause a decrease in the power of the generator so that it needs to be overhauled. This research aims to obtain performance results of the Denyo 300 kVA generator components after overhaul according to the generator parameters and calculate their efficiency and determine preventive maintenance references for valve stem seals. The method used in this research is to compare the generator power before and after the overhaul using the Load Bank Test Key Power TNLB - 700. The results of the analysis show an increase in generator power after the overhaul of 53 kW or 23% and torque of 325 Nm or 20,4% where the generator is able to maintain its standard parameters at loads of 27%, 54%, 81%, and 106% of the generator capacity. At 106% load, 230 kW of power is produced, which previously was only able to reach 82% load or 177 kW. The Denyo 300 kVA generator engine torque before overhaul was 1267 Nm at 82% load and after overhaul was 1592 Nm at 106% load. The test results on the valve stem seal show that the highest hardness figure is 89.5 ShA durometer and the lowest is 87.5 ShA durometer. This value is above the standard, namely 80 ShA durometer, resulting in a service life of only 4300 - 4400 hours. Lower than factory specifications, namely 5000 hours. So preventive maintenance needs to be carried out before reaching 4300 hours to prevent a decrease in generator power due to damage to the valve stem seal on the diesel engine causing oil to enter the combustion chamber. Keyword: Genset, Diesel Engine, Performance Genset, Overhaul Tuntutan terhadap ketersediaan daya genset yang maksimal tanpa gangguan pada saat digunakan tergantung pada daya yang dihasilkan oleh penggerak utama nya yaitu diesel engine. Kurang diperhatikannya perawatan dan pengoperasiannya akan menyebabkan penurunan daya pada genset sehingga perlu dilakukan overhaul. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendapatkan hasil kinerja komponen genset Denyo 300 kVA sesudah overhaul sesuai dengan parameter genset dan menghitung efisiensinya serta menentukan acuan preventive maintenance terhadap seal valve stem. Metode yang dipakai dalam penelitian ini adalah membandingkan daya genset sebelum dan sesudah overhaul menggunakan Load Bank Test Key Power TNLB – 700. Hasil analisis menunjukkan adanya peningkatan daya genset sesudah overhaul sebesar 53 kW atau 23% dan torsi sebesar 325 Nm atau 20,4% dimana genset mampu mempertahankan parameter standarnya pada pembebanan 27%, 54%, 81%, dan 106% dari kapasitas genset tersebut. Pada beban 106% dihasilkan daya sebesar 230 kW yang sebelumnya hanya mampu sampai pada beban 82% atau 177 kW. Torsi engine genset Denyo 300 kVA sebelum perbaikan adalah sebesar 1267 Nm pada beban 82% dan sesudah overhaul adalah sebesar 1592 Nm pada beban 106%. Hasil pengetesan terhadap seal valve stem menunjukkan angka kekerasan paling tinggi adalah 89,5 ShA durometer dan terendah adalah 87,5 ShA durometer, nilai ini berada diatas standar yaitu 80 ShA durometer sehingga menyebabkan umur pakainya hanya 4300 - 4400 jam. Lebih rendah dari spesifikasi pabrik yaitu 5000 jam. Maka preventive maintenance perlu dilakukan sebelum mencapai 4300 jam untuk mencegah terjadinya penurunan daya pada genset karena kerusakan seal valve stem pada diesel engine menyebabkan masuknya oli ke ruang bakar.
