Abstract

Semakin berkembangnya pemakaian internet tanpa kabel (wireless internet), yaitu WiFi memerlukan infrastruktur yang handal dan berkualitas. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk melakukan analisa peningkatan kualitas layanan WiFi pada frekuensi 5 GHz dalam menangani pengaruh interferensi sinyal menggunakan mobile controller dengan metode channel assignment. Interferensi sinyal dapat menurunkan kualitas signal to noise ratio (SNR), bit error rate (BER) dan throughput. Penelitian ini dilakukan dengan skenario pengukuran 1 (satu) buah access point utama sebagai target dan beberapa buah access point pengganggu yang menginterferensi. Access Point Aruba AP-505, Aruba 7030 mobile controller dan Aruba HMI merupakan perangkat keras dan perangkat lunak yang digunakan untuk mengukur gangguan interferensi sinyal dan throughput. Frekuensi yang digunakan oleh perangkat WiFi adalah Frekuensi 5.725 to 5.850 GHz. Interferensi diasumsikan hanya berasal dari perangkat WiFi yang menggunakan kanal yang sama (co-channel) atau kanal yang berdekatan (adjacent channel) kemudian dilakukan perbandingan pada keadaan sebelum dan sesudah terjadinya interferensi. Parameter yang diukur adalah persentase tingkat interferensi kanal dan throughput access point sebelum dan sesudah penggunaan mobile controller dengan metode channel assignment. The increasing use of wireless internet, namely WiFi, requires reliable and quality infrastructure. This research aims to analyze improving the quality of WiFi services on the 5 GHz frequency in dealing with the influence of signal interference using a mobile controller with the channel assignment method. Signal interference can reduce the quality of the signal to noise ratio (SNR), bit error rate (BER) and throughput. This research was carried out with a measurement scenario of 1 (one) main access point as the target and several interfering access points. The Aruba AP-505 Access Point, Aruba 7030 mobile controller and Aruba HMI are hardware and software used to measure signal interference and throughput. The frequency used by WiFi devices is the 5,725 to 5,850 GHz frequency. Interference is assumed to only come from WiFi devices that use the same channel (co-channel) or adjacent channels (adjacent channel). Then a comparison is made of the conditions before and after the interference occurs. The parameters measured are the percentage of channel interference levels and access point throughput before and after using the mobile controller using the channel assignment method.
