Abstract

As one of the major stations serving executive class train transportation and a small number of mixed classes, it causes a high level of mobility at Gambir Station. Many passengers use private vehicles to get to Gambir Station, this triggers an increasing number of incoming vehicles and creates a need for parking spaces. Based on these problems, researchers are interested in knowing the characteristics of vehicle parking which include parking accumulation, parking volume, parking duration, and parking index. In addition to the vehicle parking characteristics, research will also be conducted on the performance of the road in front of the entrance and exit Gambir Station. The analytical method used is based upon the Indonesian Highway Capacity Manual (HCM) 1997. The data required to analyze the characteristics of the vehicle parking in the form of data in and out of vehicles parked along with the time obtained from the survey results directly in Gambir station. For the performance of roads, data on traffic volume and vehicle speed are needed. From the results of the research, the parking capacity of Gambir Station is sufficient with an average parking index of 80.99% for cars and 49.38% for motorbikes. The results of the analysis of the performance of Jalan Medan Merdeka Timur level of service at the level of D for the morning and evening on the side of the road which is directly in contact with the station entrance. One alternative to improve the performance of this road is the reactivation of the entrance from the west side or from the Monas direction. This alternative improvement can improve the level of service to level C. Keywords : The Vehicle Parking Characteristics, Gambir Station, Jalan Medan Merdeka Timur, Roar Performance, MKJI 1997. Sebagai salah satu stasiun besar yang melayani transportasi kereta api kelas eksekutif dan sebagian kecil kelas campuran, menyebabkan tingkat mobilitas yang tinggi di Stasiun Gambir. Banyak dari penumpang yang menggunakan kendaraan pribadi untuk sampai ke Stasiun Gambir, hal ini memicu meningkatnya jumlah kendaraan yang masuk dan menimbulkan kebutuhan terhadap ruang parkir. Berdasarkan permasalahan tersebut, peneliti tertarik untuk mengetahui karakteristik parkir kendaraan yang meliputi akumulasi parkir, volume parkir, durasi parkir, dan indeks parkir. Selain karakteristik parkir kendaraan, penelitian juga akan dilakukan pada kinerja jalan di depan pintu masuk dan keluar Stasiun Gambir. Metode analisis yang digunakan mengacu pada Manual Kapasitas Jalan Indonesia (MKJI) 1997. Data yang diperlukan untuk menganalisis karakteristik parkir kendaraan berupa data keluar masuk kendaraan yang parkir beserta dengan waktunya yang diperoleh dari hasil survey langsung di Stasiun Gambir. Untuk kinerja ruas jalan dibutuhkan data volume lalu lintas dan kecepatan kendaraan. Dari hasil penelitian didapat kapasitas parkir Stasiun Gambir mencukupi dengan indeks parkir rata-rata untuk mobil 80,99% dan 49,38% untuk motor. Dilihat dari hasil analisis kinerja ruas Jalan Medan Merdeka Timur tingkat pelayanan jalan berada pada level D untuk pagi dan sore hari pada sisi jalan yang bersinggungan langsung dengan pintu keluar masuk stasiun. Salah satu alternatif untuk perbaikan kinerja jalan ini adalah pengaktifan kembali pintu masuk dari sisi barat atau dari arah monas.
