Abstract

Abstract The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship between Achievement Goal Orientation and Student Engagement in the Student POST Program at Mercu Buana University. The study population was active students of Mercu Buana University who were participating in POST. The sampling technique uses Accidental Sampling. Collecting data in this study used the Achievement Goal Questionnaire Measurement Tool developed by Elliot & McGregor and Handelsman, Briggs, Sullivan, & Trowller's Student Course Engagement Questionnaire which is an adaptation researcher. Analysis of the data in this study using the Pearson Correlation technique to answer the problem formulations posed in this study. The results of the Pearson Correlation Test show that there is a significant positive relationship between Achievement Goal Orientation and Student Engagement in the POST Program for Students at Mercu Buana University p < 0.05. These results mean that the higher the Achievement Goal Orientation for students, the higher the Student Engagement for these students. Keywords: Student Engagement, Achievement Goal Orientation, POST Program Abstrak Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui hubungan Achievement Goal Orientation dengan Student Engagement pada Program POST Mahasiswa Universitas Mercu Buana. Populasi penelitian adalah Mahasiswa aktif Universitas Mercu Buana yang sedang mengikuti POST. Teknk pengambilan sampel menggunakan Accidental Sampling. Pengumpulan data dalam penelitian ini menggunakan Alat Ukur Achievement Goal Questionnaire yang dikembangkan oleh Elliot & McGregor dan Student Course Engagement Questionnaire milik Handelsman, Briggs, Sullivan, & Trowller yang peneliti adaptasi. Analisis data dalam penelitian ini menggunakan teknik Pearson Correlation untuk menjawab rumusan masalah yang diajukan dalam penelitian ini. Hasil Uji Pearson Correlation menunjukan adanya hubungan yang positif signifikan antara Achievement Goal Orientation dengan Student Engagement pada Program POST Mahasiswa Universitas Mercu Buana p < 0,05. Hasil tersebut memiliki makna bahwa semakin tinggi Achievement Goal Orientation pada mahasiswa semakin tinggi pula Student Engagement pada mahasiswa tersebut.
