Abstract

This research aims to analyze the construction of religious moderation in the "Khazanah Islam" program on Metro TV using the framing analysis framework of Robert N. Entman. A qualitative method is employed to uncover how the program presents views on religious values guiding human behavior in social interactions. Data were collected from January to June 2022. The theory of framing by Robert N. Entman serves as a guide to identify framing elements utilized in this program, namely define problem, diagnose cause, make moral judgement, treatment recommendation. The study concludes that the "Khazanah Islam" program successfully highlights three crucial aspects of religious moderation construction: cooperation, competition, and conflict. The program encourages viewers to understand the significance of harmonious cooperation, address competition by prioritizing collective interests, and manage conflicts through empathy and open communication. The findings offer insights into how news programs contribute to constructing an understanding of religious moderation within society. Employing a framing approach, this research explores the meanings and messages conveyed by the "Khazanah Islam" program to shape viewers' perceptions and actions regarding religious values in the context of social interactions. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis konstruksi moderasi beragama dalam program "Khazanah Islam" di Metro TV menggunakan kerangka analisis framing Robert N. Entman. Metode kualitatif digunakan untuk mengungkap bagaimana program tersebut menghadirkan pandangan mengenai nilai-nilai agama dalam membimbing perilaku manusia dalam interaksi sosial. Data dikumpulkan dari periode Januari hingga Juni 2022. Teori framing Robert N. Entman menjadi panduan dalam mengidentifikasi elemen framing yang digunakan dalam program ini, yakni define problem (mendefiniskan masalah), diagnose cause (mendiagnosa masalah), make moral judgment (membuat keputusan moral), dan treatment recommendation (menawarkan rekomendasi) Penelitian menyimpulkan bahwa program "Khazanah Islam" berhasil mengangkat tiga aspek penting dalam konstruksi moderasi beragama, yaitu kerjasama, kompetisi, dan konflik. Program ini mengajak penonton untuk memahami pentingnya kerjasama harmonis, mengatasi persaingan dengan mengedepankan kepentingan bersama, dan mengelola konflik dengan membangun empati dan komunikasi terbuka. Hasil penelitian ini memberikan wawasan tentang bagaimana program berita berkontribusi dalam membangun pemahaman moderasi beragama dalam masyarakat. Dengan pendekatan framing, penelitian ini menggali pemaknaan dan pesan yang disampaikan oleh program "Khazanah Islam" dalam membentuk persepsi dan tindakan penonton terkait nilai-nilai agama dalam konteks interaksi sosial.
