Abstract

Information technology, especially in computer networks today, is one of the things that is needed in all aspects. Hard to imagine in this era of information technology at the present time without the use of technology computer networks. It can be seen from the use of the computer network whether it is public or private, the number of access needs and the communication performance of the network must be in good condition. One of the problems that often arise at the time of the browsing process using the internet is the frequent occurrence of disorders on the internet connection thus the need for the analysis of QoS (Quality of Service) on the network that are on the institution to prevent the loss of quality caused by packet loss, delay, and jitter. Quality of Service (QoS) is a technology that allows a network administrator to handle a variety of effects from the occurrence of congestion on the traffic flow of packets from a variety of services to exploit network resources optimally, compared with adding the physical capacity of the network. Key words: QoS, Internet, network, throughput, delay, jitter Teknologi informasi khususnya pada jaringan komputer saat ini menjadi salah satu hal yang sangat dibutuhkan dalam semua segi. Sulit dibayangkan pada era teknologi informasi pada saat sekarang tanpa menggunakan teknologi jaringan komputer. Hal ini dapat dilihat dari penggunaan jaringan komputer baik itu secara umum maupun pribadi, banyaknya kebutuhan akan akses dan komunikasi maka kinerja jaringan harus berada pada kondisi yang baik. Salah satu masalah yang sering muncul pada saat melakukan proses browsing menggunakan internet adalah sering terjadinya gangguan pada koneksi internet maka dari itu perlu adanya analisis QoS (Quality of Service) pada jaringan yang ada pada instansi tersebut untuk mencegah penurunan kualitas yang disebabkan oleh packet loss, penundaan, dan jitter. Quality of Service (QoS) merupakan teknologi yang memungkinkan administrator jaringan untuk menangani berbagai efek dari terjadinya kongesti pada lalu lintas aliran paket dari berbagai layanan untuk memanfaatkan sumber daya jaringan secara optimal, dibandingkan dengan menambah kapasitas fisik jaringan tersebut.
