Abstract

Cooling machines today have developed a lot along with technological advances. In modern life, the development and use of Air Conditioners is very fast and competitive to create Air Conditioners that have economic value, are efficient and energy efficient in operation. The use of an Air Conditioner and the selection of the right BTU (British Thermal Unit) can make the Air Conditioner durable and save electricity, on the contrary the use of an inappropriate Air Conditioner and the selection of an inappropriate BTU (British Thermal Unit) can shorten the life of the Air Conditioner and waste electricity usage. The cause of waste is due to the compressor in the Air Conditioner working continuously and resulting in the absorption of large electrical power, so that the performance of the Air Conditioner is not efficient and there is a waste of electrical energy. So that sometimes many complain about the bill payment for electricity bills soaring up. The results of the study are that compressor performance greatly affects the cost of electricity tariffs so that energy savings are very important to know in order to reduce the cost of electricity tariffs, the energy savings obtained are 6.3 percent and changes in electrical energy consumption in one hour are based on the length of time. the compressor works / on to cool the room according to the temperature we set and when the compressor stops working / off after the Air Conditioner has managed to cool the room according to the temperature we set on the Air Conditioner. Keywords: British Thermal Unit, Compressor, Air Conditioner Mesin-mesin pendingin saat ini telah bayak berkembang seiring dengan kemajuan teknologi. Pada kehidupan modern perkembangan dan pemakaian Air Conditioner sangatlah cepat dan bersaing menciptakan Air Conditioner yang memiliki nilai ekonomis, efisien dan hemat energi dalam pengoperasiannya. Penggunaan Air Conditioner dan pemilihan BTU (British Thermal Unit) yang tepat dapat menjadikan Air Conditioner awet dan hemat listrik, sebaliknya penggunaan Air Conditioner yang tidak tepat dan pemilihan BTU (British Thermal Unit) yang tidak sesuai dapat memperpendek umur Air Conditioner dan pemborosan pada penggunaan listrik.penyebab pemborosan dikarenakan kompresor pada Air Conditioner bekeraja terus menerus dan mengakibatkan penyerapan daya listrik yang besar, sehingga kinerja Air Conditioner tidak efisien dan terjadi pemborosan energi listrik. Sehingga terkadang banyak yang mengeluh terhadap tagihan pembayaran rekening listrik yang begitu melonjak naik. Hasil dari penelitian adalah bahwa kinerja kompresor sangat mempengaruhi biaya tarif listrik sehingga penghematan energi ini sangat perlu diketahui agar dapat meringankan biaya tarif listrik , penghematan energi yang di dapat yaitu sebesar 6,3 persen dan perubahan konsumsi energi listrik dalam satu jam di dasari dari lama waktu kompresor berkerja/on untuk mendinginkan ruangan sesuai temperature yang kita setting dan saat kompresor berhenti berkerja / off setelah Air Conditioner berhasil mendinginkan ruangan sesuai dengan temperature yang kita setting pada Air Conditioner.
