Abstract

The purpose of this study is to examine the connection between verbal aggression and anonymity. The quantitative technique employed in this study focuses on data collection to determine the scope and trajectory of the research's defined hypothesis. The study's premise is that among early adult twitter users, there is a correlation between anonymity and verbal aggression. Purposive sampling was used to choose 385 samples of Twitter users with anonymous accounts who met the age requirement of 18 to 40 years, while 33 data samples that did not meet the research criteria were discarded. With the aid of SPSS 25.00, the Spearman type correlation hypothetical test is the data analytic approach utilized to evaluate the hypothesis. The findings of the correlation test indicate that among young adult Twitter users, there is no link between the variables of anonymity and verbal aggression. This study can be helpful to anonymous Twitter users so they can use the anonymous function appropriately and avoid undesirable outcomes like verbal aggression. Keywords: anonymity, verbal aggressiveness, twitter, early adulthood Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis hubungan anonimitas dan agresivitas verbal. Metode yang dipakai dalam penelitian ini ialah metode kuantitatif, yang memfokuskan pada pengumpulan data untuk mengidentifikasi besaran dan arah dari hipotesis yang telah dirumuskan dalam penelitian. Hipotesis yang diajukan dalam penelitian ini adalah terdapat hubungan antara anonimitas dan agresivitas verbal pada dewasa awal pengguna twitter. Pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan menyebarkan kuesioner kepada 385 sampel pengguna twitter dengan akun anonim dengan kriteria usia 18-40 tahun menggunakan teknik purposive sampling dan menggugurkan 33 sampel data yang tidak sesuai dengan kriteria penelitian. Teknik analisis data yang digunakan untuk menguji hipotesis ialah dengan uji hipotetik korelasional jenis Spearman dengan bantuan SPSS 25.00. Hasil uji korelasi menunjukan tidak ada hubungan antara variabel Anonimitas dan Agresivitas Verbal pada dewasa awal pengguna twitter. Penelitian ini dapat bermanfaat untuk pengguna anonim pada media sosial twitter agar dapat memanfaatkan fitur anonim secara bijak dan tidak menimbulkan hal-hal negatif seperti agresivitas verbal.
