Abstract

Communities are facilitated to communicate, even people in other parts of the world. Since the invention of cellular telegraph, radio and networks, communication has become quicker and easier. One of the technologies being developed as a communication medium is fiber optic technology, this technology is very popular for users in the office, building, school or housing sector, which is better known as the Fiber to The Home (FTTH) service method. To minimize disruption to the fiber optic network, optimization is carried out, which is useful for minimizing additional costs when building a new FTTH area. The method used in designing this network is by using the Network Development Life Cycle (NDLC). This method can develop existing networks by going through several stages of the process, namely analysis, design, prototype simulation, implementation, monitoring and management. Keywords: FTTH, NDLC, GPON, NETWORK, LINK POWER BUDGET Masyarakat dimudahkan untuk berkomunikasi, bahkan orang di belahan bumi yang lain. Sejak ditemukannya telegram, radio dan jaringan seluler, komunikasi semakin cepat dan mudah. Salah satu teknologi yang sedang dikembangkan sebagai media komunikasi adalah teknologi fiber optik, teknologi ini sangat populer untuk pengguna pada sektor perkantoran, gedung, sekolah, atau perumahan yang lebih dikenal dengan metode layanan Fiber to The Home (FTTH). Untuk meminimalisir terjadinya gangguan pada jaringan serat optik, maka dilakukanlah optimasi, yang berguna untuk meminimalisir keluarnya biaya tambahan pada saat pembangunan area FTTH yang baru. Metode yang digunakan dalam perancangan jaringan ini dengan menggunakan Network Development Life Cycle (NDLC). Metode ini dapat mengembangkan jaringan yang sudah ada dengan melalui beberapa tahapan proses yaitu analisis, desain, simulasi prototipe, implementasi, monitoring dan manajemen Kata Kunci: FTTH, NDLC, GPON, JARINGAN, LINK POWER BUDGET
