Abstract
A project frequently encounters obstacles that go beyond the initial plan, resulting in time or cost losses. Delays in project completion are common constraints. PT MSI is a company engaged in technology, especially IT product development projects. The goal of this research is to identify and analyze the causes of delays in product development project work, as well as to make recommendations for improvements to reduce these delays. The population in this study includes all product development projects at PT MSI. Meanwhile, the sample used is 3 (three) projects based on the types of projects that have been completed by PT MSI. Data collection methods include document study, observation, and Focus Group Discussions. The analysis method employs the lean management concept, as well as value stream mapping analysis tools, kanban, and fishbone diagrams. The findings were that there were changes in work and project planning that did not go well between time, workload, and human resources, and that there were activities that were waiting for each other. Based on these findings, the solution was to create a project framework before the project began and combine the existing processes that were waiting for each other. Keywords: Project, Product Development, Lean Management, Value Stream Mapping, Kanban, Fishbone Suatu proyek sering terjadi kendala di luar rencana awal sehingga hal ini membuat kerugian baik dari segi waktu atau biaya, hal yang sering terjadi adalah keterlambatan dalam penyelesaian proyek. PT MSI adalah perusahaan yang bergerak di bidang teknologi terutama proyek pengembangan produk IT. Penelitian ini dapat mengetahui dan menganalisis penyebab terjadinya keterlambatan dalam pengerjaan proyek product development serta memberikan usulan perbaikan untuk mengurangi keterlambatan tersebut. Populasi dalam penelitian ini meliputi semua proyek product development pada PT MSI. sementara untuk sampel yang digunakan adalah 3 (tiga) proyek berdasarkan jenis proyek yang sudah diselesaikan oleh PT MSI. Metode pengumpulan data dengan studi dokumen, observasi dan Focus Group Discussion serta metode analisis data dengan konsep lean management menggunakan Value Stream Mapping, Kanban dan Fishbone Diagram. Hasil yang didapat adalah ditemukan perubahan pekerjaan dan perencanaan proyek yang tidak berjalan baik antara waktu, beban kerja, dan sumber daya manusia serta terdapat aktivitas yang saling tunggu, dengan hasil tersebut maka solusi yang dibuat adalah dengan menyusun kerangka proyek sebelum proyek dimulai dan menggabungkan proses yang saling tunggu.
