Abstract
The risk of adding additional levels to a concrete structure due to changes in building function can result in structural damage. One method of reinforcement that can be used for normal concrete is the use of carbon fibre reinforced polymer (CFRP) wrap, which has similar characteristics to steel reinforcement but with a lighter weight. Research on the use of other types of CFRP wrap as reinforcement for normal concrete has not been extensively conducted before. This is because CFRP wrap offers various types and layers, which may have different effects on the compressive strength of normal concrete. This research analyses the influence of using CFRP wrap as external reinforcement on the compressive strength of existing normal concrete. The factors considered in the study are the parameters regarding the influence of CFRP wrap on the effectiveness and behaviour in improving the quality of normal concrete under compressive loads, such as the percentage of compressive strength and the modulus of elasticity of the concrete. Eighteen samples of normal concrete with dimensions of 15 x 30 cm were made for variations in fibre direction and number of layers. The samples were made according to testing standards based on SNI 7656-2012. The concrete samples were coated with Sika wrap 231 C CFRP using Sikadur 732 resin adhesive on the surface. In order to obtain the percentage of effectiveness, comparisons were made between the effectiveness and the modulus values of concrete reinforced with Sika Wrap 231C, both in the longitudinal and transverse fibre directions, as well as the percentage of effectiveness influenced by the number of reinforcement layers. The results of the research show that the percentage increase in compressive strength for 1 layer in the longitudinal direction is 221.61%; for 2 layers in the longitudinal direction is 304.90%; for 1 layer in the transverse direction is 118.46%; and for 2 layers in the transverse direction is 129.41%. The wrapping of fibres in the longitudinal direction is twice as effective as in the transverse direction. The increase in compressive strength is more significant from no layers to 1 layer, both in the longitudinal and transverse directions. Salah satu metode perkuatan yang dapat digunakan sebagai perkuatan beton normal adalah dengan menggunakan carbon fibre reinforced polymer (CFRP) wrap, yang memiliki karakteristik serupa dengan tulangan baja namun dengan berat yang lebih ringan. Penelitian penggunaan CFRP wrap jenis lain sebagai perkuatan beton normal belum banyak dilakukan sebelumnya. Hal ini dikarenakan, CFRP wrap menawarkan beberapa jenis variasi tipe dengan lapis yang berbeda memungkinkan adanya perbedaan pengaruh pada kekuatan tekan beton normal. Penelitian ini menganalisis pengaruh penggunaan CFRP wrap sebagai perkuatan eksternal terhadap kekuatan tekan beton normal eksisting. Faktor yang menjadi pertimbangan dalam penelitian adalah parameter mengenai pengaruh penggunaan CFRP wrap terhadap efektifitas dan perilaku dalam peningkatan mutu beton normal pada beban tekan yaitu persentase kuat tekan dan modulus elastisitas beton. Pembuatan sampel beton normal berukuran 15 x 30cm sebanyak 18 buah untuk variasi arah serat dan jumlah lapis. Pembuatan sampel sesuai standar pengujian berdasarkan SNI 7656-2012. Sampel beton dilapisi oleh CFRP jenis Sikawrap 231 C dengan bantuan perekat resin tipe Sikadur 732 pada bagian selimut. Agar memperoleh persentase efektifitas, perbandingan efektifitas, perbandingan nilai modulus pada beton yang diperkuat dengan Sika Wrap 231C, baik arah serat longitudinal terhadap transversal, serta persentase efektifitas yang dipengaruhi jumlah lapis perkuatan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa persentase peningkatan kuat tekan 1 lapis arah longitudinal sebesar 221,61 %; 2 lapis arah longitudinal sebesar 304,90 %; 1 lapis arah transversal sebesar 118,46%; dan 2 lapis arah transversal sebesar 129,41 %. Penyelimutan serat arah longitudinal dua kali lebih baik dibandingkan dengan penyelimutan serat arah transversal. Peningkatan kuat tekan lebih signifikan pada tanpa lapis menjadi 1 lapis baik arah longitudinal maupun transversal. Kata Kunci: CFRP wrap, efektifitas, resin, Sikadur 732, longitudinal, transversal.
