Abstract

Theuse of plastic is increasing asthe population grows, while thenature of plastic is difficult to degrade and pressure from environmentalists who want its use to be reduced requires efforts to reduce plastic waste into other useful products. One of the alternatives in this research is to make plastic waste as a mixture of paving blocks used, namely an experiment to find the compressive strength of paving blocks made from a mixture of PP, PET and LDPE plastic waste which is used with a paving compressive strength test. blocks.The compressive strength test value shows 7.10 MPa and has met the standard of SNI–03–0691–1996, namely the quality requirements for the strength value of paving blocks. Knowing the value of the compressive strength of paving blocks made from plastic waste that meets or approaches the value of SNI 03–0691–1996. Paving blocks have been made from plastic waste of the type PP, PET and LDPE. Plastic waste is collected and then melted in the Reactor Camber with a temperature of 200˚C, after all the plastic waste is melted and then put in a mold measuring 11cm x 6 sides x 6cm. then tested to the Compressive Strength Test Research Laboratory. Laboratory data will be analyzed. The test results show that PP paving blocks with an average compressive strength of 1.93 MPa, PET paving blocks = 7.78 MPa, LDPE paving blocks = 10.2 Mpa paving blocks which have an average strength value The best compressive strength in this study, is included in the D quality for the average compressive strength value. From the results of the study, it was concluded that paving block products made from plastic waste plastic bags (LDPE) can only be used in the home page based on SNI 03-0691-1996. Keywords: waste, plastic, paving block, compressive strength Penggunaanplastik semakin meningkat seiring bertambahnya jumlahpopulasi penduduk, sedangkan sifat plastik yang sulit terdegradasi dan desakkan para ahli lingkungan yang menginginkan penggunaannya dikurangi maka perlu upaya untuk mereduksi limbah plastik menjadi produk lain yang bermanfaat. Salah satu alternatif yang dilakukan dalam penelitian ini adalah menjadikan limbah plastik sebagai salah satu bahan campuran dari paving block yang digunakan yaitu eksperimen untuk mencari kuat tekan pada paving block yangterbuat dari campuran limbah plastik jenis PP, PET dan LDPE yang digunakan dengan uji kuat tekan paving block. Nilai uji kuat tekan menunjukkan 7,10 MPa dan sudah memenuhi standar SNI–03–0691–1996 yaitu syarat mutu nilai kekuatan paving block. Mengetahui nilai kuat tekan pada paving block berbahan limbah plastik yang memenuhi atau mendekati nilai SNI 03–0691–1996. Telah dibuat paving block berbahan utama limbah plastik yang berjenis PP, PET dan LDPE, Limbah plastik terkumpul kemudian dilelehkan didalam Reactor Camber dengan tepemperatur 200˚C, setelah semua limbah plastik melebur kemudian dimasukkan dalam cetakan berukuran 11cm x 6sisi x 6cm. kemudian di uji ke Laboratorium Penelitian Uji kuat tekan. Data hasil laboratorium akan dianalisis, Hasil pengujian menunjjukan bahwa paving block PP dengan rata-rata kuat tekan 1,93 MPa, paving block PET 7,78 MPa, paving block LDPE 10,2 Mpa paving block yang memiliki nilai rata – rata kuat tekan terbaik dalam penelitian ini, termasuk dalammutu D untuk nilai rata – rata kuat tekannya. Dari hasil penelitian disimpulkan bahwa produk paving block berbahan limbah plastik kantong plastik (LDPE) hanya dapat digunakan dihalaman rumah berdasarkan SNI 03-0691-1996.
