Abstract

Building Tire engine, tread is the last component to be mounted on the frame of a tire after all the other materials have been installed. In the process of measuring the length of the tread that has been adjusted before there is often an error or variation in the measurement on the measuring instrument used because the accuracy of the measuring instrument is still not accurate, so the operator can not use the tread and can cause a lot of scrap and loss time in the process of making a tire. To be able to solve the problem, the design of modification of the tread length measuring system that has a more accurate level of precision so as to reduce the level of variation in tread length during the process of making a tire. The result of tread length measurement process using ENC-1-1-24-N type rotary encoder can operate in accordance with the program that has been created. Evidenced by the data of tread length measurement results. The results of the display design on the HMI as well as the program that has been created can function in accordance with the desired instructions. The operator only needs to specify a number on the HMI screen to adjust the tread length. Keywords: Rotary Encoder, PLC Mitsubishi, HMI. Mesin Building Tire merupakan komponen terakhir yang dipasang pada kerangka sebuah ban setelah seluruh material yang lain sudah terpasang. Pada proses pengukuran panjang tread yang telah disesuaikan sebelumnya sering terjadi kesalahan atau variasi pengukuran pada alat ukur yang digunakan karena tingkat ketelitian dari alat ukur tersebut masih kurang akurat, sehingga operator tidak bisa menggunkanan tread tersebut dan dapat menimbulkan banyak scrap serta loss time pada proses pembuatan sebuah ban. Untuk dapat mengatasi masalah tersebut, maka dibuatlah perancangan modifikasi sistem alat pengukur panjang tread yang memiliki tingkat ketelitian yang lebih akurat sehingga dapat mengurangi tingkat variasi panjang tread pada saat proses pembuatan sebuah ban. Hasil proses pengukuran panjang tread menggunakan rotary encoder tipe ENC-1-1-24-N dapat beroperasi sesuai dengan program yang telah dibuat. Dibuktikan dengan data hasil pengukuran panjang tread. Hasil rancangan tampilan pada HMI serta program yang telah dibuat dapat berfungsi sesuai dengan intruksi yang diinginkan. Operator hanya perlu menentukan angka pada layar HMI untuk menyesuaikan panjang tread. Kata Kunci : Rotary Encoder, PLC Mitsibishi, HMI.
