Abstract
This study aims to determine whether there is a relationship between academic stress and psychological well-being in psychology faculty students in the employee class at University X, West Jakarta. The number of samples in this study were 128 respondents with the criteria of employee class students who were preparing a thesis at University X, West Jakarta. To determine the number of samples, researchers used a sample with the Issac and Michael methods. The measurement tool used on the academic stress scale is Gadzella's Student-Life Stress Inventory (1991) with a Cronbach Alpha value of 0.924. For the psychological well-being scale, the measurement tool used is the Ryff Psychology Well Being Scale (RPWB) by Ryff (1989) which has been modified in the study of Savitiri & Listiyandini (cited in Ningrum et al, 2022) to measure psychological well-being, with acquisition of Cronbach Alpha value of 0.929. In this study, the researcher used the correlation test method with a value of r = -0.542 and a significance value of Sig = 0.000 (P <0.01). So, these results show that the higher the academic stress, the lower the psychological well-being, and vice versa, the higher the psychological well-being, the lower the academic stress. Keywords: academic stress, psychological well-being, employee class psychology students, writing a thesis Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui apakah terdapat hubungan antara stres akademik dengan psychological well-being pada mahasiswa psikologi kelas karyawan yang sedang menyusun skripsi di Universitas X Jakarta Barat. Jumlah sampel dalam penelitian ini sebanyak 128 responden dengan kriteria mahasiswa kelas karyawan yang sedang menyusun skripsi di Universitas X Jakarta Barat. Untuk menentukan jumlah sampel peneliti menggunakan sampel dengan metode tabel Issac dan Michale. Alat ukur yang digunakan pada skala stres akademik yaitu menggunakan alat ukur Gadzella’s Student-Life Stress Inventory (1991) dengan perolehan nilai Cronbach Alpha sebesar 0,924. Untuk skala psychological wellbeing alat ukur yang digunakan yaitu Ryff Psychology Well Being Scale (RPWB) oleh Ryff (1989) yang telah di modifikasi pada penelitian dari Savitri & Listyandini (dikutip dalam Ningrum DKK, 2022) untuk mengukur psychological well-being, dengan perolehan nilai Cronbach Alpha sebesar 0,929. Dalam penelitian ini peneliti menggunakan metode uji korelasi dengan perolehan nilai r=-0,542 dan nilai Signifikansi sebesar Sig= 0,000 (P<0,01). Sehingga hasil tersebut menunjukan bahwa semakin tinggi stres akademik, maka semakin rendah psychological wellbeing, begitupun sebaliknya, semakin tinggi psychological well-being maka semakin rendah stres akademik.
