Abstract

This research was conducted with the aim to find out the description of social perceptions and self-esteem of demonstrators in May 22 2019 who were detained at the Jakarta Metro Police Station. The number of subjects in this study amounted to 14 people who were detained prisoners. Obtained using the interview method. The results of the analysis showed that the subjects decided to join the demonstration because of information from social media included in the theory of social perception. While in self-esteem they feel valued when they get affection and are considered human Penelitian ini dilakukan dengan tujuan untuk mengetahui gambaran persepsi sosial dan keberhargaan diri peserta demonstran 22 mei 2019 yang ditahan di Dit Tahti Polda Metro Jaya. Jumlah subjek dalam penelitian ini berjumlah 14 orang yang berstatus sebagai tahanan titipan. data yang diperoleh menggunakan metode wawancara. Hasil analisis menunjukkan bahwa para subjek memutuskan ikut demonstrans tersebut karena informasi dari media sosial yang masuk dalam teori persepsi sosial. Sedangkan dalam keberhargaan diri mereka merasa dihargai apabila mendapatkan kasih sayang dan dianggap sebagai manusia.
