Abstract

Automotive companies are motor vehicle production companies that operate in the automotive industry. To support the development of Completely Built Up (CBU) exports, quality control is needed. This situation can affect the increase in production costs and the decrease in product quality, which can reduce profitability. This study aims to determine the highest types of defects and the implementation improvements to the main causes of product defects before export. The research model uses descriptive analysis method with a quantitative approach through data collection process based on observations and interviews relevant parties in the automotive company. In this study, the author uses the Six Sigma methodology with the Define Measure Analyze Improve Control (DMAIC) improvement model to make improvements to the 4-wheel vehicle products produced by the automotive company. The analysis results show that the highest type of defect affecting the quality of 4-wheel vehicle products is found in bumper scratches, with a percentage value of 81%. Proposed corrective actions to address defects in the product related to the worker factor can be done by providing training and creating instructions regarding knowledge and skills related to quality standards regarding friction risks and how to avoid them. For the machine factor, optimization of the layout of the quality inspection area is carried out, and for the method factor, additions or updates are made to the existing facilities in the quality inspection area. Keywords: Quality control, DMAIC, Six Sigma, Export. Perusahaan otomotif merupakan perusahaan produksi kendaraan bermotor roda 4 yang bergerak di bidang industri otomotif. Untuk mendukung perkembangan ekspor CBU (Completely Built Up) perlu dilakukan pengendalian kualitas mutu. Keadaan ini dapat mempengaruhi peningkatan biaya produksi dan penurunan kualitas produk yang dapat mengurangi profitabilitas. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui jenis kecacatan tertinggi dan implementasi perbaikan terhadap penyebab utama munculnya kecacatan produk sebelum dilakukan ekspor. Model penelitian menggunakan metode analisa deskriptif dengan pendekatan kuantitatif melalui proses pengumpulan data yang dilakukan berdasarkan hasil observasi dan wawancara kepada pihak yang terkait di perusahaan otomotif. Pada penelitian ini penulis menggunakan metodologi Six Sigma dengan model perbaikan Define Measure Analyze Improve Control (DMAIC) untuk melakukan perbaikan pada produk kendaraan roda 4 yang diproduksi oleh perusahaan otomotif. Hasil analisis menunjukan jenis defect tertinggi yang mempengaruhi kualitas dari produk kendaraan roda 4 yaitu terdapat pada jenis defect bumper lecet yaitu memiliki nilai persentase sebesar 81%. Usulan tindakan perbaikan dalam mengatasi defect pada produk terhadap faktor pekerja dapat diperbaiki yaitu dengan pengadaan pelatihan dan dibuatkan instruksi terkait metode pengetahuan dan keterampilan mengenai standar kualitas tentang risiko gesekan dan cara menghindarinya. Pada faktor mesin dilakukan pengoptimalan tata letak area quality inspection, selanjutnya untuk faktor metode dilakukan penambahan atau memperbarui fasilitas yang ada pada area quality inspection.
