Abstract

In maintaining quality and increasing productivity, one of the important factors that must be considered is the issue of machine maintenance (maintenance) and production facilities. In this regard, the section who handles maintenance problems must be able to find the best maintenance system to be able to minimize the number of machine breakdowns and the costs of repairing or maintaining machines. MCB VRLA line is a production line that produces battery products for motorcycles. In the production of MCB VRLA there are 12 Production Lines. This research is only focused on the Cast On Strap (COS) Machine on Line 4 because the machine has the highest Breakdown time during 2019. The purpose of this research is to calculate the effectiveness value of the COS machine on Line 4 MCB VRLA, find out the highest Losses on the machine and recommends what efforts are made to increase its effectiveness. The method used is Overall Equipment Effectiveness, and Six Big losses. And for problem solving using FMEA method, and 5 Why Analysis. After doing research, the average value of Overall Equipment Effectiveness of the COS Line 4 machine is 74.1%. This result is still far from the world class standard, which is 85%. It is known that the biggest losses that cause the low OEE value are Equipment Failure losses of 49% of the total losses. It is known that the cause of the large losses is the Heater Short Body. The main factor for the occurrence of Heater Short Body is because the Heater is turned on continuously and also the COS machine is old. To reduce these losses the company must carry out maintenance in accordance with the existing maintenance schedule. The company also provides workers with an understanding of production targets in order to build employee motivation. Then the company must procure new machines to increase the effectiveness of the machines. Keywords : Overall Equipment Effectiveness, Total Productive Maintenance, Six Big Losses, Maintenance Dalam mempertahankan mutu dan meningkatkan produktivitas, salah satu faktor penting yang harus diperhatikan adalah masalah perawatan mesin (maintenance) dan fasilitas produksi. Berkaitan dengan hal tersebut, maka pihak yang menangani masalah perawatan harus mampu menemukan sistem perawatan yang paling baik untuk dapat meminimasi jumlah breakdown mesin dan biaya perbaikan atau perawatan mesin yang dikeluarkan. Line MCB VRLA merupakan Line produksi yang menghasilkan produk Battery untuk motor. Pada produksi MCB VRLA terdapat 11 Line Produksi. Penelitian ini hanya difokuskan kepada Mesin Cast On Strap (COS) pada Line 4 dikeranakan Mesin tersebut memiliki waktu Breakdown tertinggi selama tahun 2019. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk menghitung nilai keefektifitas mesin COS di Line 4 MCB VRLA, mengetahui Losses tertinggi pada mesin tersebut serta merekomendasikan upaya apa saja yang dilakukan untuk meningkatkan keefektifitasannya. Metode yang digunakan adalah Overall Equipment Effectiveness, dan Six Big losses. Dan untuk pemecahan masalah menggunakan metode FMEA, dan 5 Why Analysis. Setelah dilakukan penelitian, diperoleh nilai rata-rata Overall Equipment Efectiveness dari mesin COS Line 4 adalah sebesar 74,1%. Hasil ini masih jauh dari standar world class yaitu 85%. Diketahui bahwa losses terbesar yang menyebabkan rendahnya nilai OEE ini adalah Equipment Failure losses yaitu sebesar 49% dari keseluruhan losses. Diketahui yang menyebabkan besarnya losses tersebut adalah Heater Short Body. Faktor utama terjadinya Heater Short Body yaitu karna Heater dinyalakan terus menerus dan juga mesin COS yang sudah tua. Untuk mengurangi kerugian tersebut perusahaan harus melakukan pemeliharaan sesuai dengan jadwal maintenance yang sudah ada. Perusahaan juga memberi pemahaman target produksi kepada pekerja guna membangun motivasi pekerja. Kemudian perusahaan harus melakukan Pengadaan mesin baru untuk meningkatkan keefektifitas mesin.
