Abstract

The wireless network is one technology that is growing rapidly at this time. The convenience offered by wireless technology includes users being able to connect to the network to access files, retrieve data, and connect to the internet without the need to use cable media. To expand the signal range, a wireless system is made with the Wireless Distribution System (WDS), which is a system for developing a wireless network without having to use cables as a data transfer medium, but rather using the wireless line from each access point device. In this study, a performance analysis of WDS on a Mikrotik device will be carried out using the Wireshark application through the placement of several wireless devices in bridge mode. The testing method used in this study is a connectivity test with a ping test via an IP address, while the analysis method used is Quality Of Service (QoS), which is a method with the ability to guarantee the delivery of important data flows or in other words a collection of various performance criteria. (Throughput, Packet Loss, Delay, and Jitter) which determines the level of decision to use a service. The results in this study obtained QoS parameters in each performance criterion by referring to the TIPHON standard, namely with the average throughput value of 138 Kbps, the average packet loss value of 0.014 % (Very Good), the average delay value 8.16 ms (Very Good), and the jitter value of 1.8 ms (Very Good). Keywords: Mikrotik, Wireless, Wireless Distribution System (WDS), Wireshark, Quality Of Service (QoS) Jaringan wireless merupakan salah satu teknologi yang berkembang pesat pada saat ini. Kemudahan yang ditawarkan oleh teknologi wireless antara lain pengguna dapat terhubung ke dalam jaringan untuk mengakses file, mengambil data, serta melakukan koneksi internet tanpa perlu menggunakan media kabel. Untuk memperluas jangkauan sinyal, maka dibuat wireless dengan sistem Wireless Distribution System (WDS) yaitu sistem untuk mengembangkan jaringan nirkabel tanpa harus menggunakan kabel sebagai media transfer data, melainkan memanfaaatkan jalur nirkabel dari setiap perangkat access point. Dalam penelitian ini, akan di lakukan analisa kinerja dari WDS pada perangkat mikrotik menggunakan aplikasi wireshark melalui penempatan beberapa perangkat wireless pada mode bridge. Metode pengujian yang di gunakan pada penelitian ini adalah uji konektivitas dengan test ping melalui alamat IP, sedangkan metode analisa yang digunakan adalah Quality Of Service (QoS), yaitu metode dengan kemampuan dalam menjamin pengiriman arus data penting atau dengan kata lain kumpulan dari berbagai kriteria performansi (Throughput, Packet Loss, Delay dan Jitter) yang menentukan tingkat keputusan penggunaan suatu layanan. Hasil pada penelitian ini didapatkan parameter QoS di setiap kriteria performansinya dengan mengacu standarisasi TIPHON yaitu dengan hasil rata - rata nilai throughput 138 Kbps, hasil rata - rata nilai packet loss 0,014 % (Sangat Bagus) , hasil rata - rata nilai delay 8,16 ms (Sangat Bagus), dan hasil nilai jitter 1,8 ms (Sangat Bagus).
