Abstract

The need for energy over time has resulted in a significant increase in fossil fuel electricity consumption, therefore it is necessary to find renewable energy sources where the wind is one of the renewable energy sources whose energy utilization can be utilized by using a horizontal axis wind turbine (TASH). In this research, a fourbladed TASH drag-type spiral blade prototype was designed and adapted to the geographical conditions of Indonesia, which has low wind speeds. Field tests were also carried out on Muara Baru beach, North Jakarta, this location was chosen because it has varying wind speeds. Tests were carried out at various variations of wind speed from 2.5 m/s to 4.5 m/s. The purpose of this study was to verify the performance of the drag-type TASH four-blade spiral prototype, due to the influence of the addition of winglets. Turbine performance is assessed through measured parameters such as actual power value, torque value, and rotor speed also analyzed for Coefficient Power (Cp), Coefficient Torque (Ct), and Tip Speed Ratio (TSR) as non-dimensional parameters. The test results are tabulated which is then calculated and analyzed for these parameters. From the calculation results, the effective value with winglet Cp and TSR values is efficient at a wind speed of 3.5 m/s with a rotational speed of 151.8 rpm with a Ct of 0.727. While the Cp and TSR values at a wind speed of 3.5 m/s are 0.497 and 0.6185. Kebutuhan akan energi seiring perkembangan jaman mengakibatkan peningkatan konsumsi listrik berbahan bakar fosil yang signifikan, oleh karena itu dibutuhkan pencarian sumber energi terbarukan dimana angin merupakan salah satu sumber energi terbarukan yang pemanfaatan energinya dapat dimanfaatkan dengan menggunakan turbin angin sumbu horizontal (TASH). Dalam penelitian ini dirancang bangun prototipe empat bilah spiral TASH tipe drag yang disesuaikan dengan kondisi geografis Indonesia yang mempunyai kecepatan angin rendah juga dilakukan pengujian lapangan di pantai Muara Baru , Jakarta Utara, lokasi ini dipilih karena memiliki kecepatan angin yang bervariasi. Pengujian dilakukan pada berbagai variasi kecepatan angin dari 2,5 m/s hingga 4,5 m/s. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk memverifikasi terhadap kinerja prototipe empat bilah spiral TASH tipe drag tersebut , akibat pengaruh penambahan winglet. Kinerja turbin dinilai melalui parameter terukur seperti nilai daya aktual, nilai torsi dan kecepatan rotor, juga dianalisa Coefficient Power (Cp), Coefficient Torque (Ct), dan Tip Speed Ratio (TSR) sebagai parameter non-dimensinya. Hasil pengujian tersebut ditabulasikan yang kemudian dilakukan kalkulasi dan analisa terhadap parameter parameter tersebut. Dari hasil perhitungan menghasilkan nilai efektif dengan winglet nilai Cp dan TSR efisien pada kecepatan angin 3,5 m/s dengan kecepatan putar 151,8 rpm dengan Ct yaitu 0,727. Sedang nilai Cp dan TSR pada kecepatan angin 3,5 m/s adalah 0,449 dan 0,6185.
