Abstract

This study aims to examine and analyze the effect of work life balance and authentic happiness on work engagement. The method used in this study is a quantitative method, which focuses on data collection to identify the magnitude and direction of the hypothesis that has been formulated in the study. Data collection was carried out by distributing questionnaires to 106 samples of employees at PT. CAD Solusindo using the saturated sample technique. Data was collected using the Work Life Balance instrument with the concept of Fisher, Bulger and Smith (2009), then the Authentic Happiness instrument using the concept of Seligman (2013), while for the Work Engagement instrument using the Utrecht Work Engagement Scale 9 (UWES-9) developed by Schaufeli, Bakker and Salanova (2006). The data analysis technique used to test the hypothesis is simple regression test and multiple regression test through t test and F test with the help of SPSS software version 25.00. The results of this study indicate that (1) There is a positive and significant effect of work life balance on work engagement (t = 7.407), (2) There is a positive and significant effect of authentic happiness on work engagement (t = 5.613), (3) There is a positive and significant effect of work life balance and authentic happiness simultaneously on work engagement (F = 48.451) with a contribution of both variables of 41.8% to work engagement. The suggestion that can be given to PT. CAD Solusindo is to pay more attention to work life balance and authentic happiness of employees, because both can actively contribute to increasing positive energy to achieve optimal employee engagement and productivity in the company. Keywords: work life balance, authentic happiness, work engagement Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menguji dan menganalisis pengaruh work life balance dan authentic happiness terhadap work engagement. Metode yang dipakai dalam penelitian ini adalah metode kuantitatif, yang memfokuskan pada pengumpulan data untuk mengidentifikasi besaran dan arah dari hipotesis yang telah dirumuskan dalam penelitian. Pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan menyebarkan kuesioner kepada 106 sampel dari karyawan di PT. CAD Solusindo dengan menggunakan teknik sampel jenuh. Data dikumpulkan dengan menggunakan instrumen Work Life Balance dengan konsep Fisher, Bulger dan Smith (2009), kemudian instrumen Authentic Happiness menggunakan konsep Seligman (2013), sementara untuk instrumen Work Engagement menggunakan Utrecht Work Engagement Scale 9 (UWES-9) yang di kembangkan oleh Schaufeli, Bakker dan Salanova (2006). Teknik analisis data yang digunakan untuk menguji hipotesis ialah dengan uji regresi sederhana dan uji regresi berganda melalui uji t dan uji F dengan bantuan software SPSS versi 25.00. Hasil dari penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa (1) Terdapat pengaruh positif dan signifikan work life balance terhadap work engagement (t = 7,407), (2) Terdapat pengaruh positif dan signifikan authentic happiness terhadap work engagement (t = 5,613), (3) Terdapat pengaruh positif dan signifikan work life balance dan authentic happiness secara simultan terhadap work engagement (F = 48,451) dengan kontribusi kedua variabel sebesar 41,8% terhadap work engagement. Saran yang dapat diberikan untuk PT. CAD Solusindo yaitu agar lebih memperhatikan work life balance dan authentic happiness karyawan, karena keduanya dapat berkontribusi secara aktif dalam meningkatkan energi positif untuk mencapai keterikatan dan produktivitas karyawan yang optimal di perusahaan.
