Abstract

The aim of this study was to see the percentage of self efficacy and coping stress of teachers in Pre-School X in Jakarta. Participant in this study were 122 teachers of Pre-School X in Jakarta. This study is a descriptive quantitative study using a measurement based on General Self Efficacy Scale by Albert Bandura and Coping Stress based on the grand theory of Lazarus and Folkman. The result showed that the teachers of Pre-School X about 89 person (72,95%) with average self-efficacy. Also the result shown that most of the teachers use problem-focused coping as their strategy in coping their stress. Furthermore, the teachers with high self-efficacy tend to use problem-focused coping as their way in coping stress. In accordance to the result, it is also shown that there was a positive significant correlation between self-efficacy and coping stress, it was 0,662 Spearman’s Rho (p=0.000), this indicates that there was a positive correlation between self efficacy and coping stress. Keywords : self efficacy, coping stress, preschool teachers. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk melihat persentase self efficacy dan coping stress pada guru Prasekolah X di Jakarta. Partisipan penelitian ini adalah 122 orang guru dari Prasekolah X di Jakarta. Penelitian menggunakan pendekatan deskritif kuantitatif yang menggunakan alat ukur berdasarkan pada General Self Efficacy Scale milik Albert Bandura and Coping bedasarkan pada teori milik Lazarus and Folkman. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan jika 89 orang guru (72.95%) memiliki tingkat self efficacy cukup. Penelitian ini juga menunjukkan bahwa sebagian besar guru menggunakan dimensi problem focused coping untuk coping stress nya. Selain itu, guru-guru dengan self efficacy yang tinggi cenderung menggunakan problem focused coping sebagai cara coping stress. Selain itu dalam penelitian ini terlihat juga jika ada hubungan positif antara self efficacy dengan coping stress, dengan nilai uji korelasi 0,662 Spearman’s Rho, dengan signifikasi 0.000<0.5, yang menunjukkan hubungan positif signifikan.
