Abstract

A smart home system or commonly referred to as a smart home is a system that mostly uses smart components that are connected and integrated from one component to another by utilizing an internet network based on the Internet of Things. In this modern era, smart home systems are widely used in various rooms in modern homes. This smart home device is implemented in a room in the house designed using several components including the ESP32-Cam microcontroller, motion sensor or PIR (Passive Infrared Receiver), buzzer and the Whatsapp messaging application. These components are connected and integrated into one with the internet network to send notifications in the form of image and text captures that will be sent to the Whatsapp messaging application on a smartphone or laptop if movement or activity is detected in the room. Based on the results of testing the tool, we get the results of testing the overall data from this system, the PIR sensor is able to detect movement at a distance of 1 to 3 meters marked by the active buzzer and the appearance of a notification to the Whatsapp application on a smartphone or laptop with an average time delay of 1 to 3 second. Tests were also carried out based on the length of the 5 pin USB cable which obtained test results that apart from WiFi or internet networks, cable length also had an impact on the delay in sending notifications to the Whatsapp Application. The longer the cable, the longer it will take to send notifications to the WhatsApp application. By implementing smart home devices in the rooms in this house, it can increase security and reliability at home if the house runs out. Keywords: ESP32-Cam, PIR Sensor, Smart Home, Whatsapp Sistem rumah pintar atau biasa disebut sebagai smart home merupakan suatu sistem yang sebagian besar menggunakan komponen-komponen pintar yang terhubung dan terintegrasi antara satu komponen ke komponen yang lain dengan memanfaatkan jaringan internet berbasis Internet of Things. Pada era modern seperti saat ini, sistem rumah pintar sudah cukup banyak digunakan di berbagai ruangan pada rumah modern. Alat smart home ini diimplementasikan pada suatu ruangan di dalam rumah dengan dirancang menggunakan beberapa komponen-komponen meliputi mikrokontroler ESP32-Cam, sensor gerak atau PIR (Passive Infrared Receiver), buzzer serta aplikasi pesan Whatsapp. Komponen-komponen tersebut terhubung dan terintegrasi menjadi satu dengan jaringan internet untuk mengirimkan notifikasi berupa capture gambar dan teks yang akan dikirimkan ke aplikasi pesan Whatsapp pada smartphone atau laptop apabila terdeteksi adanya gerakan atau aktivitas di dalam ruangan tersebut. Berdasarkan hasil dari pengujian alat di dapatkan hasil data pengujian secara keseluruhan dari sistem ini, sensor PIR mampu mendeteksi gerakan pada jarak 1 sampai 3 meter ditandai oleh aktifnya buzzer dan munculnya notifikasi ke aplikasi Whatsapp pada smartphone atau laptop dengan delay waktu rata-rata yaitu 1 sampai 3 detik. Juga dilakukan pengujian berdasarkan panjang kabel USB 5 pin yang didapatkan hasil pengujian bahwa selain jaringan WiFi atau internet, panjang kabel juga mempengaruhi delay waktu pengiriman notifikasi ke Aplikasi Whatsapp. Semakin panjang kabel, maka semakin lama pengiriman notifikasi ke Aplikasi Whatsapp. Dengan terimplementasinya alat smart home pada ruangan dalam rumah ini, maka dapat menambah keamanan serta kehandalan di rumah jika terjadi kekosongan rumah.
